That Cleo gets around. How old is she, anyways??
I always enjoy seeing the clothes in these pictures. I can’t imagine having to dress up like that every time I went some place.
Ask an astronomer what the difference is between a dwarf planet, and a planet.
Basically, not much.
Mostly its about how much stuff crosses your orbit.
I don’t remember this poster, but I really, really like it. The names are always great. ‘Hairy James and his Shedders’ cracked me up!!
You are posting videos and pictures like it is Spring. It’s still freezing here with snow showers off and on. I don’t think we are going to have a Spring. Of course, that last picture is beautiful and is enjoyed by some special characters.
We haven’t quite got that cold, but it has been below freezing every night and in the 40’s and 50’s during the day. We are way below average. Sometimes I like average. We are going to have rain and snow showers Saturday and cold, cold on Easter. Bah Humbug!!

“Grilled Cheese Sandwich”
A perennial favorite: Soft melted cheese and pressed, buttery toast.
(ONE SANDWICH)
2 slices Cheddar, American, or Swiss cheese
2 slices white bread
2 tablespoons butter
Put the cheese between the slices of bread.
Heat 1 tablespoon of the butter in a skillet or grill and when it is melted add the sandwich.
Gently press down with a spatula once or twice during the grilling.
When one side, is golden, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, turn the sandwich over, and brown.
Grilled Cheese with Bacon
Fry 3 slices bacon until cooked but not crisp.
Pat dry of excess fat, add on top of the cheese, and grill as diredted.
Grilled Cheese with Ham.
Put 2 thin slices ham on the cheese and grill as directed. Serve with sweet pickle.
Onion-Cheese Sandwich.
Follow the recipe for Grilled Cheese Sandwich, but lightly coat 1 slice of bread with Dijon mustard.
Sauté 3 – 4 slices onion in butter and put on top of the cheese.
Cover and grill.
Tomato-Cheese Sandwich.
Follow the recipe for Grilled Cheese Sandwich, but add 2 thin slices tomato to the sandwich before grilling.
Notes from me:
Just make sure you toast not burn the bread.
You can also use a frying pan very successfully if you butter the pan first.
If that is a goose then that is exactly what he is thinking.
“Do i attack now, or should i wait until he gets closer?”
Like them but they can be evil little shits.

Whatever you do, do not take that basset on the roller coaster.

It was very gracious of Grant Wood to give you that shout-out.

No heating – neither radiators nor warm water.
Spring? We had a dusting of snow this morning! On the beach! In April!
Oh, my!! I wouldn’t have expected it there. Weird weather.
i saw that on the news…
Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words is an enchanting collection of miniatures for piano. They don’t get performed as often as they should.
never knew little ceasar romero could shake a paw so well until i saw this movie. cute poster, stel!
Beautiful poster, Stel!
“Springtime in Cleveland!”
And just in time for the very late Spring some of us are having…. or in some cases, are still about to have.
…
What a cast!
Betty Kibble…. with her purplie eye shadow, her pearls…. and of course, her famous million-dollar legs…
they may be short but they’re the shapely stuff of basset-sailor dreams.
Johnny Paws… never achieved the lasting fame he deserved….. but a singing and dancing dreamboat in his day….
even next to the silky-smooth Little Cesar Romero!
…
Carmen Grrranda.. wow… how did she dance so well, to that fast Latin beat, while holding up that amazing tower of kibble and Milk Bones on her hat?
And Charlotte Dogbone! An old favorite of mine….
tall and thin for a basset, she could kick her little legs impossibly straight up in the air.
Remember her as Aunty Yeller in Oklahounda?
And so many more…. a real, old-style Howlywood extravaganza!
…
Compare that with the human version Stel posted…
The blonde female human just doesn’t fill out a gown like Betty Kibble, does she?
And of course, none of the humans have long, soft ears.
…
Speaking of what StelBel posted…
You’re really breaking out the tampered art collection lately, Stel!
Great to see it!
Brought over from April 10’s “Ripley’s.”
