Detail of “Ophelia”, 1852, by founding Pre-Raphealite English painter John Everett Millais, a work sometimes used to represent the ideals of the movement.

The model was poet Elizabeth Siddal.

The whole (which of course can be better seen in the detail view):

I was driving home just the other day. I heard a ‘honk” and saw a flash of color out of the corner of my eye. Was that . . .? stopped and put her in reverse. Told the Greylady “Check this out”. Somewhere along the way, the neighbor had acquired a peacock! I must have feathers!

Not playing

as, like me, you may think at first glance
Bus driver Ralph Kramden

Actually,
Jackie Gleason this time is wearing a military uniform, and Tuesday Weld holds a Pekinese dog in her lap, while he drives a golf cart on the set of director Ralph Nelson’s 1963 ‘Soldier in the Rain’.

It’s actually a comedy/drama, a buddy movie, with Gleason and Steve McQueen, the latter playing a country bumpkin…

If that’s not unbelievable enough, the beautiful 19-year-old rising star, Miss Weld (b. 1943), plays Gleason(b. 1916)’s love interest.

The things women had to do in Hollywood back then.

Supposedly a real place in Ukraine, called the Tunnel of Love… though I would bet that the lady and probably some of the lighting effects have been added with Photoshop or AI, as both are brighter and more clear than what I found in other images.

The posts of this I found, at least, the ones that had any descriptions at all, had the same caption, the only difference, a change of word order.

They said…
“Love In The Afternoon, Audrey Hepburn, director Billy Wilder and Gary Cooper, 1957”

None said who any of the others were, or whether they’re all in the film, or some are crew, or??

The man at the far left of the front row…
is actor John McGiver, (the only person I immediately recognized in addition to Wilder and Cooper).

I’m pretty sure flea dip doesn’t work if you eat it.

And I’ve smelled it… I’m also pretty sure you wouldn’t want to.

So have some nice onion dip, and… I know it’s embarrassing, but… talk to your vet about the fleas.

Actually, around here, the chips are always tortilla chips, and the “dip” is always salsa, of one sort or another. On a lucky day, a little guacamole, as well.

Potato chips come in little bags, with your sandwich, in delis and sandwich shops that don’t have fries, and I’ve never been offered a dip for them.

That would be nice, as long as it’s not flea dip. Or sheep dip.
