Ahh, the original version of the Lola song, not the one with “tastes just like Cherry Cola”…
I’ve never seen this particular version of the Lola video, very interesting, and, Yeah, dennis, it certainly leaves allambiguity behind… I’ve always loved that song…

“Glazed Ham”
italics no space bold In Canada hams may be purchased pre-
cooked or ready-to-cook. We’ve included
both types in this recipe, and by “cooked
ham” we mean one you have baked your-
self according to package directions. Remove rind (if necessary) from 1 cooked ham and score in diamond pattern with a sharp knife
OR Score 1 precooked ham Insert in diamonds in ham whole cloves Bake in preheated 325° F. oven for 1 hour. Remove ham from oven and increase temperature to 450° F.
HAM GLAZE
Mix together 3 cups lightly packed brown sugar 3 teaspoons dry mustard 2 tablespoons corn syrup 3 tablespoons flour 1/4 cup vinegar (to moisten) Spread over top of ham. Bake in 450° oven for 30 minutes, or until glaze threads from spoon. Re- move from oven. Keep basting as glaze cools until it hardens.
Notes from me:
Any on-hand vinegar may be used, or substitute wine if that appeals to you.
Although there I times I have appreciated a rubber eraser, I can’t say I want to spend a day celebrating them. I’m going to take a wild guess that we celebrate it because of National Tax Day.
Great Sam Basset video! And LOLA Illustrated, one of my all time favorite songs.

Peek-a-boo!
My mother would have described those chicks as having “faces only their mother could love.”
proud momma and poppa.
Robert Stack as Elliot Ness in ‘The Untouchables’
That was a great show! At least to my young eyes.
M I_C,, K E Y,, M O U S E
I remember them well!
It’s the wrong day for it… but oh well….
at least you can watch them count off!
But we didn’t get to see who the guest star was. ☹
oh, the many afternoons spent in front of the ole telly! especilly waiting for the Spin and Marty segment.
loved those!
Great animation of the night train. Gee, that sounds like a song!
I love this part where we start meeting the suspects from other strips.
Never saw the Lola video version. I think the song alone leaves more to the imagination.
Love Ringo on a stationery bike instead of his drum kit, acknowledging that they are lip synching.
In re the Beatles… This time it was so obvious even I noticed!

The users from Go Comics did it!! With extreme prejudice!
I may, or may not, be a suspect.
so many of us could be!
Ooooh…. or should I say _”Whoo whooo”…??
…. like the train across the wheatfields… clickety clack… clickety clack…
“Whoo-elcome (in a deep radio announcer bass) …. mystery fans…
To the next episode of Murder on the Midnight Express…
Where the plot, of course… thickens.”
….
It looks GREAT!
So many mysteries in one!
Sooo many questions.
Who is this Mr. GC?
Who killed him?
With what?
After what we all witnessed of his “charming personality … we probably don’t have to ask why.
…
There’s more…
.
How many other people are on the train?
Will Sam interview them all?
The redcaps? Porters? Even the nice conductor, himself?
…
What’s so awful about Sam’s pajamas?
I LIKE them…. and I kinda think some others here do, too.
…
And… I’m sure we’ve just witnessed a truly amazing feat, worthy of a great detective…
…nonetheless, I have to ask:
Just what evidence did Sam see of a blow from behind…
He’s several feet away from the victim… who is still supine…
which is to say, lying on the evidence?
…
Then again… I just know that the great Sam Basset …. like Sherlock Holmes, or his idol, Dick Tracy…. has his ways.
WhUt..!!??? Know SheRRiff..????
MONKEY!!
Is it really you?
Welcome!
Welcome back!!
You have been missed!
there appears to be a pool of blood under G.C.s head…not easily identifiable since it’s not in color

Susan will be relieved finally being able quitting one of her jobs.
On the other hand – working side-by-side with that well-dressed basset…
What great timing!
I hope you’re going to stick around this time!
I have to go to bed… and it might be even later in Peenicks.
…
But you’d better come back… I have questions for you!
And it’s your turn to be Sheriff, for sure!
