With shades of blue, yellow, and orange, he looks sort of like a cub scout.

At first it looks like a sweet picture of a girl sleeping in a roomful of colorful kitties.

But when I look at it closely, there are weird, not-quite-feline animals, and color-changing cats.

Look at the expressions on the cat faces in the lower left corner… and on the white cat behind them.

What is lying between the two grey cats to the left… And a little father back, what’s the headless purple furry thing?
There are lots more, as you look around.

I don’t know whether it’s meant to be a bit disturbing.

Image search didn’t help.

Got it!

Glad cos I feel as though i haven’t been doing all that well on the kid pictures lately.

But this face is recognizable in the young man.

Not sure whether or not you’d still call him a “kid”, but I’m pretty sure it was long before his career started.

In case you don’t recognize him, even as an adult….(and you might want to look at the extra info in here even if you do)….

He’s….

actor Anthony Quinn.

One interesting thing to me… while he has played many ethnicities, including Arab, native American, ethnic Hawaiian, Chinese, so many Italians many people assumed he was Italian…. and most famously, Zorba the Greek….

I feel like his actual Mexican heritage is more apparent in the youthful picture.

(He was born Manuel Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca.)

I never recognized him in anything he did.

As Susan points out
he had such varied roles I never learned who he was (though I knew the name).

So I had no idea who the child or the adult was.

Does he like insects too?

I’ve seen a lot of his cartoons, way more than only 10 Cats, but I don’t remember anything about bugs.

Oh! Maybe I have seen that!

I think I remember a short time when he ran it in place of Ten Cats.

I’m only vaguely remembering space aliens but maybe there were bugs too.

That was brought home to me yesterday. I went out to chop down this tall slender pine that was growing against the house. I took my trusty ax and gave it about 20 wildly scattered whacks, exhausting myself, but making very little progress. I’ve hewn down much larger trees, one only about 15 years ago. But those 15 years took their toll and I had to switch to the chain saw.

A question from a Brit. Is the dialogue in panel three part of the Yellow Pages blurb? If so, we didn’t get that part here in the UK (As far as I remember), we only got the “Let your fingers do the walking” bit accompanied by footage of a person’s fingers ‘walking’ across the page of the open YP.

We got “Find It Fast In The Yellow Pages.”
You Brits sometimes get some other great ads, but they aren’t usually shared here with the “Colonials”. Ads are actually some of the best examples of British humor.

I was going to tease you by saying

“Does that mean there are ten?”

But then I decided maybe you wouldn’t realise I was joking…..

Or maybe it just wasn’t nice 😁….

And I try to be nice, so of course I’m not going to say it.

You’re welcome!
