Has our intrepid poster designer gotten a new CGI program and is trying it out? War for the Planet of the Bassets is a relatively (2017) new production. Must be practicing for that $80K salary. Old timey or brandy new, it’s all mahvelous.
Y’all go smoke a prime rib. (Yes I know they’re hard to light…)
Such a scary poster, but gorgeous, too. Well done! I thought it was really scary until I looked at that 4th picture. I about jumped out of my chair when that gorilla opened it’s eyes – was not expecting that. Had to go back and look at it again to make sure I saw what I saw. And he was looking right at me!
Goodness gracious! First off, I was enjoying Stel’s poster, and flew through the other MonkeyShines. Then I read Susan’s comment about the fourth picture…..EGADS! It moved! Luckily I didn’t have a sip of coffee in my mouth!
You got me, Stel. Back to the scardycat row for me. hee hee.
original movie poster
Stel, I don’t know why you’re always saying these are “original” posters,
when the humans so blatantly copy your work.
…
Yes, they’re usually the first human versions…
but they obviously pale in comparison to your basset posters, and are hardly “original”.
..
Look… this time the designer even copied your title font almost exactly…
and my impression is that they’d also cast actors just because their names sounded almost like the stars in the dog movie.
…
The copydogs!
Stel! You’re the gorilla my dreams.
(stolen from Buggs Bunny)
Your Basset is much scarier!
interview with Phil Collins about “In the Air Tonight” Cadbury ad.
…
Only every day.
What is that mirror-thing?!?
Every time I try to look in the mirror this old lady jumps in front of me.
That is one honked-off-looking basset
It blinks!
OMG!
I jumped!
.. whew..
Now I’ve seen it. Looks friendly.
I thought I imagined it, I can’t get it to repeat.
The filename contains “30sec” … which made me time it, of course…. sigh….
And yes, one blink every 30 seconds.
If you don’t wait that long each time, or you just happen to look away at the crucial moment, you come back to more waiting.
This would be an interesting day for Sheriff MonkeyBlues to return…
Hopefully to stay.
…
Monkey…. would you feel right at home… enjoying all the simian entertainment….
or fret because that warring basset looks so formidable…
I don’t think a gorilla could be as scary!
…
The humans in either movie don’t stand a chance!
Good morning, Cleophunatics and Stel!

It would be a crime to smoke it.

Hey, I’m a danged hippie!
But I don’t smoke anything.
I guess I’m a danged boring hippie.
Good morning Balladeers, (((((Plods))))) and Miss Susan.
See. There was all this negativity about monkeys, gorillas and apes, but the real threat was the Bassets all along!
Great poster, Stel!

an old Lady and a young lady
I see it! It took me awhile to get the old lady.
I had to come back to see it. Pretty cool.
It’s jazz, man. A simple one that can migrate back and forth.
I want to ask a
Don’t click that if you don’t want to see the probable (I think) answer.
Yes it is. Your mind can flick back and forth to them rather quickly. Found that one maybe 30 years ago. I have more, including some from Escher.
….
Her lips seem almost to have a shadow…
An entity in themselves, floating over the scene.
Disguising her true self, maybe..
