A great bunch of additional stuff. Never saw the “Vincent” video before, very cool. And if only Roberta Flack were a basset, her howls would make us all cry.
I used “Killing Me Softly” in an Anthropology class to help students understand the book, “Sorrow of the Lonely and the Burning of the Dancers,” stressing the importance of ambiguity in the arts, and the need for people to be able see themselves in it, somewhere. It was an intro class so the section on the arts was brief, but many students really got it.
