Leash on board. Good idea. I had a boat out on the lake, not a speedy thing, but enough to pull a tube with the kids on it. Lots of fun. Until Beethoven jumped out of the boat. By the time I got it turned around and back to the dog, only the nose was still above water. Snagged him with a fishing net, and dragged him back on board. Bassets really can’t swim.
(Front row) Dan Rowan, Bill Dana. (Second row) Milton Berle, Wally Cox, Soupy Sales, Dick Martin, Bob Hope, Jimmy Durante, Dick Shawn. (Back row) Jack Carter. (Apologies for any misspellings. Possibly on the set of “Laugh In”?)
They could certainly have doubled up on some of the next generation, like putting siblings together, or pups with their parents, to make room for Deputy Dawg and Cleo Clifford. And maybe Fred Basset.
Who the heck is Santa’s little helper, anyway? And how many people know who Copper is, by name? Or even Hector… Which this chart misspells.
While they’re at it… Fix Snowy’s nameplate, please. It’s illegible.
I’m thinking it’s probably staged. Inline skates, the type of walking stick, and the fancy plastic bag, jar to me given the videos I normally see about life in Russia.
The Heckle and Jeckle show was on right before Captain Kangaroo and being before cable was available, I could only see a very snowy picture but I did appreciate their sarcasm enough to watch it anyway.
I saw the word right away when scrolling past, but when I came back later to look at it, I’d forgotten where I saw it, and it took a while to see it again.
I didn’t count the two markings that could be another one on the wing of duck #6. If you look closely at the two ducks with two bills then you’ll see the outline of the second head behind the head of the front duck.
That little double mark on duck #6 completely fails at achieving duckhood on my tablet.
If I try hard, I can sort of see the 2nd head outlined on Duck #4, but not #2…. And of course, I did count both as two ducks (which means we’re really talking about Ducks 2&3 and 6&7)… But they COULD be 2-headed ducks.
I think we agree, nonetheless, on a rational solution 🙂

Silent film star Dorothy Gulliver wears an egg costume and perches on a wall, as in the nursery rhyme ‘Humpty Dumpty’. April 15th 1930
Does Getty Images care to explain why Ms. Gulliver did this? No, they do not.
Nor does any other site where I found it. In fact, they said even less.
Maybe this is where Walter Lantz got the voice of his Woody Woodpecker character (which was first released in 1940, about 2 years after this Buggy cartoon…)

..,
Funny guys…!
..
December 5, 1933?
Precisely… Unless it took them a few days to get around to it.
Being a Canuck, I had to seek out the wisdom of Dr Google…
Ahhhh, The American 21st Amendment.
I’ll drink to that!
And then I, being a Brit, had to look up the 21st Amendment……
And, again, I’ll drink to your endeavour…
(I had to too!)
So did I, actually.
I guessed the likely occasion, and I knew the year, but not the day.
I Googled to make sure that’s what you meant by giving that date.

Why have I never seen her in a Revlon commercial?
“Kiss me, you fool!”

Isn’t Dino a bit of a stretch?
Where’s the Deputy?
More importantly… where’s Cleo Clifford??!
They could certainly have doubled up on some of the next generation, like putting siblings together, or pups with their parents, to make room for Deputy Dawg and Cleo Clifford. And maybe Fred Basset.

Santa’s little helper is the Simpsons’ dog.
Of which there were two of that name…..
Wow!
You are correct! There were two.
Good memory!
And where is Marmaduke?
I thought they skipped droopy, but he’s in there.
Astro is also missing. So is Scooby Dum and the entire Paw Patrol.
Astro is there… 2nd dog in 2nd row.
Scooby Dum is probably too minor… They can’t have every character…
And this chart may have been made before Paw Patrol.

Oh yeah… that’s a good idea. Uh huh.
It’s Russia going by the type of bus, and the text on the sign in the rear window of said bus.
Well, I hope it’s not showing that they provide so little help to older people, their only transport is hooking their canes to the backs of busses.
Adrenaline addict.
Nah, they’re welcome to climb on the roof for a reduced fare…
I’m thinking it’s probably staged. Inline skates, the type of walking stick, and the fancy plastic bag, jar to me given the videos I normally see about life in Russia.
I HOPE it’s staged!
I’d hate to think it actually happens.
..,
I was very small, I thought Heckle and Jeckle were scary.
The Heckle and Jeckle show was on right before Captain Kangaroo and being before cable was available, I could only see a very snowy picture but I did appreciate their sarcasm enough to watch it anyway.
I remember a little of Captain Kangaroo, but it was at my grandparents’ house. We weren’t rich enough to afford a TV for many years.

“Your”, not “You’re”.

Ummm…

No.
nonononono
Howcum the plane (blimp?) is in black and white and the baseball diamond is in color? Can I call shenanigans?
I’ve used hook ladders to climb down to equipment from a structure. The bottom step does focus the mind somewhat….
.
None! they’re all drakes!
Same.
But that is
That the teeny thing or creature that’s too blurry to see, under or near the wing of Duck #3 is another duck.
And that two bills means two ducks, not just an open mouth.
That is one,

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
All the King’s horses,
And all the King’s men,
Had scrambled eggs for breakfast again.

A ‘Half and Half’ 🙂
Or in Ireland “A Black and Tan…”
Two things you don’t hear ordered in pubs anymore.
Love that her eyes are particolored as well.
Pretty kitty.
Tree Swallows.
.
.
(Sure I only counted two…..)
How did you foresee my objection?
“One, two, tree…”
Eggsactally.
But as MCTS points out, before I could, there are only two.
Obviously from the caption, a tree swallowed one of the trio. It was probably cropped out of the picture by mistake.
Today we had visitors on our loggia: a female European robin and a tit.
Yeah right; save your breaths…
From today’s London “Daily Mail.”
He was nothing like the Bugs we know and love.

strange to think Porky predated Bugs!
Come to think of it, you’re right. I tend to think of PP as an adjunct to BB, but it’s the opposite.
