So far, they have done pretty well, because I’ve let them help me. Not the same between the two boys, but they seem to complement each other’s skills (and the same for their wives). Not only that, they seem to be able to pass them along to their kids, although the kids are going to regular schools. We all worry about the younger generation, but they might turn out almost all right.
It’s astonishing to me that some schools have stopped teaching cursive!
How will these kids read a letter if someone writes in longhand? And that includes centuries of historical documents that will be indecipherable to future generations.
At first I thought I could only find five, but I finally dug up another three
and that’s including…
the signature, which I wasn’t sure we were supposed to count.
I’m confused, because there’s another version, and I thought that’s the.one we were actually supposed to do, and wrote to Nighthawks, but I never got an answer.
Meanwhile I was out this afternoon and part of this evening… In between, I tried to log in to see which version was posted, to know which solution to post…
But the site was down. I was getting the same message as last time that happened… That I was trying to post too many comments, too quickly, even though I couldn’t post any! I did, I thought, write a couple of replies on yesterday, before “turning the page”… I see tonight that they never actually posted.
Anyway…. here are my eight for this one….
Anybody got #9? And not some teeny glitch, please.
The signature does not count, even though it does in some other puzzles. If you count it, like I did, you’ll have 10.
I missed Cleo’s foot and the snake charmer’s thumb. I was in the middle of a lot of stuff, and apparently didn’t give it my full attention, thinking we’d be using a different version.

Foghorn Leghorn and the chicken hawk.

I’m only so-so at gardening. The rest are at least medium skills, although my cursive isn’t anything to brag about.
I can do them all, to a degree… But I took this to mean generation by generation….
Not our skills, but will your grandchildren’s grandkids be able to do any of it? And will their grandchildren know those skills ever even existed?

No garden and loggia facing West, but else…
No child in school knows how to properly clean a slate these days…….

An incredibly short sighted “modernization.”
Siri/Alexa/Copilot/etc, text-to-speech via the camera on a mobile phone.
see the strawberry?
Got it!
Yes.
No, my eyes suffer with AMD – it is hard to look at the picture. Maybe I try later.

Posing so sweetly… but they disliked each other, and fought on the set, though I heard they eventually made up, long after the show was over

Dad jokes, every one of them.
Why don’t Moms get some credit? I’m full of corny jokes.
But yeah, not a mom.
It may or may not have been on this date (he wasn’t sure he had calculated the date properly) 42 years ago that Winston Smith started his diary.
Down with big brother!
oops! hope that doesn’t get me a session in room 101
…
Cleo! Cat Fancy magazine?! For shame!
There’s almost nothing interesting to read in a waiting-room.
plus, those disease-ridden pages have been thumbed through by countless sick people
I’m so glad to have my phone nowadays.
After all those years of 5 year old golfing magazines and torn up old issues of Scholastic (a children’s magazine), I finally have something to read.
Eight.
Well…. Liverlips, you’re doing as well as me.
I have eight, as well.
At first I thought I could only find five, but I finally dug up another three

You got two that I missed, but I found one you missed.
I had MCTS’ ninth as one of my eight, but …
And I found a tenth one?
Well spotted.
missed baconboy’s tenth. So I guess I now have nine.
What I did not see that you did
That
As I said, I missed the one you and MCTS saw.
Okay….
I missed Cleo’s foot and the snake charmer’s thumb. I was in the middle of a lot of stuff, and apparently didn’t give it my full attention, thinking we’d be using a different version.
Thanks you guys.
