I believe our fair heroine is herself lying in shade, so her own shadow is absorbed. I do like the little black dog behind Cleo, who appears to be attacking our fair maiden’s tail.
Cleo had better watch out for that monkey behind her. It’s not on a leash.
It’s a warm day too, bare heads and bare arms, so who brought the toque, with pom poms yet, and why?
In all seriousness, here’s a link to “The Art Institute of Chicago.” LINK . The photograph the photographer took is really high resolution, so it can be zoomed up without detail loss (and there’s a lot of detail).
it’s officially an F-5E Tiger II. our youngest son was on his way home from work yesterday (san diego) and saw a bunch shooting landings. they were at Brown Field, in Marine markings.
The universe is both looking after me, and having fun with me this week.
1) The Franco American (it’s a Campbell’s brand and sold under the Campbell name in the U.S. / the can is 1/2 U.S. fl. oz. bigger) gravy I like is on sale this week for 99¢ a can so I /bought four and paid $3.95 total (my fellow Canadians on this site know about penny rounding).
2) I needed printer ink so I went to Staples (Walmart, Canada used to carry it in store, now it’s only on line with a jacked price plus shipping / that chain has really gone downhill in the last while / it wouldn’t surprise me if management started closing stores) where not only did I find the ink cartridge, in the “impulse buy” display leading to the till I found an L.E.D. flashlight the perfect size for the car, and much to my happy surprise, Staples has apparently brought back Parker Jotter pens in blue ink. I bought both.
Now to the “having fun bit.” About two hours after I had started using the pen, it disappeared. I looked, and looked, and looked for it, finally coming to the conclusion it had fallen out of my pocket and was another one I had sent to the great stationery store in the sky. I went back and bought another one. I now have two Parker Jotter pens. Oh well, one of them is bound to disappear, so I have a spare. 🙂
This is a Subaru commercial (one I had never seen before), but also a fascinating look at city dogs learning how to herd sheep. It turns out a lot is in their DNA! I started imagining Max as a sheepdog!
Katherine Hepburn
How cool is Katherine Hepburn……..???
really kool!
Forest Fang
They must have H U G E newspapers there.
I was disappointed, maybe 10 years ago, when I made newspaper pirate hats, of childhood memories, for some friends at a pirate festival…
(It was a joke cos we didn’t wear costumes.)
…
I’d forgotten how much smaller newspaper pages had gotten…
Modern papers and adult heads …
it worked, I guess….
but didn’t quite provide the same effect as the swashbuckling 1st grade bicorns I’d remembered.
.
Aww…
My daughter was in FFA. We saw many scenes similar to this when they took their animals to the fair. This one is special!
Funny I was just going to say the same thing about seeing it at our county fair.
Those FFA kids get really close to their animals… I don’t know how they can bear to sell them at the end.
But being brought up with farming, I guess they’ve always known that’s the way the farm world works.
“…oooh, crap!”
she looks asleep. in a quiet jungle…….
“Uh, don’t look now, but I think we’ve been spotted.”
They turned into leopards?
,
why, Cleo Clifford, where is your shadow?
It’s there! It’s there, Mizz Montana!

I can’t find a toque.
Nor can I. I wondered if Alexi might have mistaken the riding hat for a toque…?
Could you call that _performance art_ ?
And street art as well.
Too funny!
Good night people and pets. 🙂
i love Copeland and Bernstein!
thanks and good night.
oh no! the EWC’s debut!
Horrors!
I think I remember this intro. Not certain if it would have been this animation or a series of panels.
Empanadas
TGIF Cleomation Phans! Light snow here this morning.
Must be too many national days to fit on the normal image I get…..
Y’all have a great day… (((((HuGz!)))))
well here’s a ‘tiger’ in the tree. can you find it?
uhh…nope.
I see what appears to be an airplane–is it an airplane with the tiger name
attached to it?—like the P-40 Flying Tiger planes of WW2
it’s officially an F-5E Tiger II. our youngest son was on his way home from work yesterday (san diego) and saw a bunch shooting landings. they were at Brown Field, in Marine markings.
And I see a sort-of cartoonish tiger face peering through branches waaay up in a tree.
Can you see it?
I figured that wasn’t what you meant… And I was right. 🙂
when you come from an aviation family………..

Max ..um… well…. do you think the sheep would think he’s a fierce wolf…. or a stray lamb?
This strip is why I used to call the EWC “Klaude.”
