He’s the artist and animator who created the titles, and all the animated bits between the scenes, with his cartooning and pieces of Victorian art work.
The “look” of Monty Python is basically his work.
At first he wasn’t in the skits… but he did more and more acting, too, as time went on.
…
He directed “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”.
On his own he has written and directed other films…
Including “Jabberwocky”, which I used to think was my favorite Monty Python movie, but it isn’t one; in fact Michael Palin is the only Python in it…
And “Time Bandits”, which includes a boat scene this reminded me of.
Wow… we’re looking back, through time and distance… to ancient Egypt, with the great Houndini…
Hairy Houndini was amazing!
Often billed as the greatest entertainment in the world
(No hyperbole there, of course…)
He could escape from any collar….any leash… any crate or kennel…
And even from coffins and tombs, which is why he was in Egypt…
And according to his story, it almost killed him….
….
Though truth be known, there was a bit of mystery about how his story managed to conform closely to another tale…
But let’s not dig that up.
Let buried bones stay buried.
….
After all Houndini has always fascinated me…. ever since I was a pup….er…. I mean a little kid, of course.”
Not only could nothing physically hold him, neither could words like “No” and “Stay!”
He was his own dog… And amazing!
Of course, we only have grainy old silent footage to prove it….. and I don’t think he ever tried to escape any modern style crates….. but I doubt it would make a difference.
After all, he did break free of iron and steel devices.
….
BTW, Stel has posted examples from the career of a human, who borrowed Houndini’s act…
calling himself by almost the same name, but leaving out one letter to avoid a lawsuit.
He tried to imitate Houndini’s great feats, even accomplishing some of the lesser ones.
But what difference does it make if a human can escape from a collar and leash? Humans don’t wear them anyway.
Marty Feldman Eyes.
eeeeeeeek!
aka Daleandkristen
Bette Davis Eyes!!!!!
Love the song – and so did Ms. Davis!!!!!!!
You mean you expect people to click on this on purpose…
without even being Rick-rolled?
Hmm..
I wonder how long it’s been since anyone was Rick-rolled.
I saw Astley himself talking about it in an old clip from a TV interview…
Asked whether he was hurt or resentful, he said no.
He thought it was great, and that he sold more records and became more famous because of it.
Is that anything like going to Rickreall?
Old school! I love it!
by Junko van Norman
does this count as a NOSE!?
BILL!
Beak?
Somehow reminds me of “Time Bandits”, the great Terry Gilliam fantasy movie.
and i was going to say it reminded me of ‘monty python’. 🙂
That’s because Terry Gilliam was a Python….
