It’s the color. Kids love the vibrant color.
I read someplace recently that they were tried in Great Britain, but they couldn’t use several of the colors. They had to use natural colors, so it came out drab.
The experiment was a failure.
I think he was already an adult, but it was because as a teenager, he had loved to eat and collect blue food… kind of as a joke, because it was mostly awful.
It tended to be candy, like gummy worms and the occasional blueberry candy cane.
…
So we tried the blue ketchup, and in spite of the label claims, it did NOT taste like regular Heinz ketchup.
Not horrible, but not quite right. Maybe from the intense concentration of blue food coloring.
No thanks.
…
Some years later, Heinz had another embarrassment… I remember reading about it, but I think it was just in Europe.
There was a QR code on the bottles, meant to take customers to a promotional website.
But when the bottle got a little old, their registration had expired on the URL, and scanning the code took people to its next owners … a porn site.

well, yes. that does explain why Daisy was getting, apparently, an unfair advantage over
her brother.
thanks for tracking that down, Alex. I was feeling sorry for ol’ Cooper yesterday.
Over Dr. Becky’s left shoulder, you will notice a book titled…:
…“Space at the Speed of Light: The History of 14 Billion Years for People Short on Time”…
…of which, she is the author.
The library had a copy available at a different branch, so I put it on hold and it arrived at my branch yesterday. I’ve just about finished it.
She gives a broad overview of the universe from the beginning of time written simply (notsimplisticly), and understandably.
Her sense of humour comes through too.
A good, short, read.
$24.00 at “Chapters Indigo.”
.
I said I wasn’t going to do these any more…. Too many repeats, and no official answers…
But what the heck.
Alexi or someone else may have posted by the time I’m finished but I haven’t seen anything yet.
2. Up in arms
3. Right in the middle of everything.
4. Head over heels in love.
5. I don’t know, and I’ll probably smack my forehead when someone says it.
6. Reading between the lines.
7. Very interesting.
8. Misunderstanding between friends.
9. Fight back.
10. Walking tall
11.Time after time.
12. Touchdown
13. If it isn’t one kind, it’s another?
Not “one kind after another”, because it doesn’t start with “another.” And it wouldn’t need all the repetitions for just “one kind or another.”
14. Rising costs.
15. Sock in the eye.
16. Pair of dice… But probably supposed to represent Paradise.
Um…I don’t think so.
We do say, though it’s sort of old fashioned, “Bob gave Joe a sock in the eye.”
13) Count each column separately and think of what 13 is in a bakery.
Thanks but those aren’t “hints”…
to a person who solves puzzles, they’re complete giveaways. LOL
…
It’s ok, I wouldn’t look at a hint anyway before I gave up.
I fell asleep around the time I figured out 5, but for some reason not 13… and never came back to post.
You just told me the answer to 13.
Which I should have gotten myself…But..no.
#13 Six of one, Half-a-dozen of another
#15 a ‘Sock in the Eye’ (A punch in the eye)
Hi More_Cats!
Great to see you on Cleo!
And thanks…
For some reason I didn’t think of #13 last night…
But #15 is the same as yours in my solution.
Hope you stick around.
“Neon Lights”
ADDENDUM: Oops, I see that Alexi already provided a hint…
LOL. Thanks.
this is not a puzzle!
The puzzle to me is why anyone eats them.
It’s the color. Kids love the vibrant color.
I read someplace recently that they were tried in Great Britain, but they couldn’t use several of the colors. They had to use natural colors, so it came out drab.
The experiment was a failure.
About 5 years ago, trying to hop the natural foods trend, General Mills (I think) took the artificial colors out of Trix.
They advertised it heavily, so a friend finally let her sons buy a box… and she showed them to me.
They were drab shades of red, orange and yellow, actually more of a tan….but just as full of sugar as ever…
I can’t remember whether the artificial flavors were replaced with natural ones.
After waiting years to be allowed to try them, the boys didn’t like them.
And so many customers complained to the company, that in a year or so, they brought back the wildly artificial, bright colored Trix from before.
There was also that brief offering of blue, green and purple ketchup — Nope, kids only wanted red…
I bought some of that blue ketchup for my nephew.
I think he was already an adult, but it was because as a teenager, he had loved to eat and collect blue food… kind of as a joke, because it was mostly awful.
It tended to be candy, like gummy worms and the occasional blueberry candy cane.

Now that’s funny right there (the QR code). Let that be a lesson to branding and marketing people everywhere.

This explains why Cooper was so complacent while Daisy licked the cone, yesterday.
well, yes. that does explain why Daisy was getting, apparently, an unfair advantage over
her brother.
thanks for tracking that down, Alex. I was feeling sorry for ol’ Cooper yesterday.
Yes, thank you. I felt so bad for Cooper, but understand now. And now I know why he was patient ~ he knew what he would get.
Well, Alexi, you started my day with a smile! Cooper certainly loves ice cream!
Thats hilarious!
We’re all kind of “awed” around here.
Claude fits right in…
…
And does Cleo think she just got even for his puns?
Not hardly, Cleo.
It’ll take a few more.
I’m old.
Hardly!
Good night people and pets.
Ha ha! Awed and Even! So what about Clara?
Fun video! I might order that book.
I’m number 5 in line at my local library, although I may break down and buy it (see attachment below).
