New Zeeland. I’m trying to decide if the colors have been enhanced, or if it’s the right shot at the right time of day for that perfect lighting. Most of the pictures I found had duller blues, but the same striking red.

And that hand is completely unreal.
Try to follow the ring and middle fingers… and what are the creepy yellow things?

The implement in his hand curves… the back end looks like a yellow pencil with an eraser, but the business end is just a white blob.
What is he doing with a pencil (or marker?) on a stone statue anyway?
Cover his right hand and part of his forearm with your fingers or some such and think about where his wrist should be… uncover it and realize how long that forearm is portrayed.
Check the little stripes of hair on his forehead near his right temple.
His teeth look totally painted in, and so do the rocks in containers and the two strange logs in the background.
This stuff is creepy to me.
I’m very susceptible to the uncanny valley effect.
Good point on the fore arm length. If I bend my elbow fully, my thumb ends below my shoulder; his thumb would start above his shoulder and go up from there.
Buddy picks up the stick and walks as far as the next smell. He’s the same with one of his toys. 🙂
If he sneaks a toy out of the house i will be carrying it. You try to get him to let go of it when he wants to show it off. Thats how it gets into the car.
I’m sure i look the fool. Buddy drops it and starts sniffing. I pick up the toy and he does his drag and sniff and drag and sniff…
Until he notices that i have the toy in my hand. Then he grabs it and we start the whole thing from the beginning.
Your “Why does Anything Exist” posting HERE. I finally made the time to listen to it. It was fascinating. The history alone regarding the Roman Empire is worth watching. it for. And what the Italian scientists are doing with the lead today (and why they made a deal so they could use it) is amazing.

I know it’s a bit late to bring up those silly little birds, but since I’m still getting responses….
In some of my Internet downtime, I searched through old pictures, looking for something else, and found some that I’d forgotten I took of the the flock settling on the grocery store.
They look big, but that’s because, IIRC, I was magnifying the shot, and it’s one tiny section of a very big store, which has two entrances like this.
