All those crowded people would be covid fodder today. Is that a basset under the Arrow Collars sign? It’s a little blurry.

As near as I can tell, this is a GIF from 2013’s “The Great Gatsby.”

Flashing neon looks so modern…

We forget that it has a century of history in Times Square.

Look at those cars!

Blood and Sand came out in 1922.

Don’t forget Catholic Oats!

Danny and the Juniors on Dick Clark – I think I saw that in the original broadcast.

Battle of New Orleans – the image is a lot more dignified than the song.

Ira Hayes – I guess Johnny Cash is trying to show him respect, but I don’t know.

I gave that a like even though it’s exactly what I was going to say.

Or would that be because it’s exactly what I was going to say?

Sigh…

Not just all those plus Catholic, as Dennis added.

If you’re going to be inclusive… you have to have a ton of other Protestant sects… like, say… Presbyterian, Lutheran, Anglican, Mormon, Unitarian and 7th Day Adventist…. and many more…

But also Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, B’Hai, and on and on… including various sects within each.

But that’s far too many oats for a small household to keep on hand.

I think we could agree that a fairly limited selection would be all that would fit in the Cliffords’ cupboards….

So Claude was not remiss in failing to ask for Jain, Sunni, or Confucianist oats, knowing that Clara probably wouldn’t have bought them ALL.

I myself have none of those, not even Quaker, on my shelf.

If oats are labeled by their religion, I think my oatmeal must believe in Safeway.

Are there still any oats that follow Piggly-Wiggly, or has that sect disappeared?

That’s.the way I learned it as a little kid.

Of course, my dad said it was just nonsense and laughed cos we kids didn’t get what it meant.

Then one day I really listened to it….

And the light bulb lit up.

The lyrics I saw were

“Mairzy doats and dozy doats
And liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn’t you?

Yes! Mairzy doats and dozy doats
and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn’t you?”

Poor Clara. All she wanted to know is what to make for breakfast. And all she gets is attempted humor!

Oh, Claude and Cleo!! You two think you are soooo funny. I know what I would be giving you for breakfast!! Mornings are not a good time for that kind of humor ~ especially since I don’t see any coffee anywhere.

When it comes to coffee, I don’t assume. I want my hands around that steaming cup of hot coffee……and let go before my fingers burn.

It is now official.
Canada is having a federal election on Monday, September, 20th of this year.
My feeling is that our present prime minister, Justin Trudeau, will get the majority government he is seeking.
While I am not a Liberal supporter, my brief summations of the other two major party leaders follows:
Conservative: Erin O’toole When I think of him I drop the ” O ‘ ” from his last name.
New Democratic: Jagmeet Singh. Capital “H” honest, capital “C” clueless.
