I think that, had I never seen this human version of Stel’s poster, nor learned of its existence, my life would have failed to be disadvantaged by that lack.
However, now that I haveseen it, and will be forever unable to unsee it, I suppose commenting on it will do me no further harm…
…
Therefore, I will admit my surprise at discovering that the humans, but not the bassets, were the ones who produced an animated version.
I thought that the basset theaters were the only ones whose box offices and display cases could accommodate animations…
so where did this version find a capable display?
….
Oh.
Right.
The internet, I suppose.
Presumably not contemporaneously… but in a later attempt to destroy my well-being.
Even the Scaredy-Cat Row allows sound, and in this case, that’s too much to bear.
…
Oh! Maybe Montana Lady’s birthday couch has adjustable volume, unlike the BassetPlexII.
Then again, I don’t know if we’d be watching on video, and could sit back there, with the sound off… or in a real theater, which I’d have to skip.
Plus, we usually watch in a group, and probably some would want to see and also hear it, and wouldn’t appreciate the volume tampering.
…
And one does have to consider… what’s the actual point of “watching” a movie with one’s back to it and no sound?
If the answer is “camaradie” … we could just go to the Tiki for a Yak ‘N Dak, or a brew, or even a cup of tea, and some cookies… or a slice of my fresh cherry pie… just baked an hour ago… and not have to think about Hannibal Lecter.
I’ll make sure there are no fava beans on the menu.
BTW… I forgot to say… nice job on the poster, Stel.
A beautiful basset hound… though sad and spooky that she has a moth over her mouth…. especially one called a “death head”…
even if the moths on your poster and the human copydog one do look a bit like clowns.
The real moth, in the photo, looks more like a monkey, or maybe an African mask. Or an African monkey mask.
Still…. I can only look at any of them briefly.
…
BTW… if you want more proof that the humans are blindly copying StelBel’s work, instead of thinking for themselves…
look at the eyes on the posters.
The lovely Jodie Fostarf, like most bassets, has big, beautiful brown eyes. Hers have a reddish tinge.
The actress on the human poster, to match the powerful effect of Stel’s poster, is shown with almost identical eye color to Ms. Fostarf’s…
even though, if you watch the film clips, which are, once again, from the human film, you can plainly see that their actress, whoever she is, actually has light blue eyes.
…
So does the human male. Very pale blue.
It’s very good for that role.
My Dad had really pale blue eyes like that, and I can tell you it lent an almost spooky authority to his instructions or demands.
i really do like Anthony Hopkins! but in this role,…. i’ll pass. no matter how well you’ve drawn your poster, Stel… i just can’t look at it. join us at the tiki for pie and tea?

When the Bassets are silent, that is indeed frightening.
Yes, you always have to wonder what they’re up to.
Did someone say Moth-Mouth?
I hope not.
Not a film for me, I’m afraid.

Book Club!
Sounds OK.
As long as the book isn’t “The Silence of the Lambs.”

rollercoaster day
Are there some among us who would actually ride that thing?
Would YOU?
If anybody says yes…. Wow.
We prefer this one:
I wouldn’t ride either one… but that kind, with a fixed arc, looks less scary to me than that wild downhill ride in the gif…
With its unexpected peaks, drops, and sharp turns.
At least you know what’s coming.
…
I might not think so, if I were really in the boat as it turned upside-down…
But from here, safely planted on terra firma, it looks that way.
I probably would. Don’t know how I would feel about waiting in the line for it, though.
Wow.
Silence of the Bassets…. isn’t that a contradiction of terms?
Good morning Poster officianadoes!
and for National Tell a Joke Day… Here’s several groaners.
No need to thank me.
Y’all have a smiley day. (((((HuGz!)))))
GROAN!!!
Thank you! Try the veal.
Be careful about mixing the subjects of today’s national day. I doubt rum and roller coasters go well together.
No, but there could be a good joke about it to tell.
Myself, I worry more about the roller coaster becoming airborne.
I’m scared enough of them when they’re attached to the ground.
…
Or there’s the horrible thought of me becoming airborne by flying off the roller coaster…
But that’s a bit less worrisome, only because to fly OFF, you first have to get ON, and we all know that will never happen..
Makes me proud to be a Dad!

I guess I have to watch this movie, as it is noe part of popular culture. And with a star named Jodie Fostarf, what could go wrong?
Yes, the poster is great. But this is all kinda creepy today. I did see the movie, and that was really creepy! Have a fun day everyone!!
I love your poster… the movie, not so much.
