I’m not believing it’s real. I’m not convinced one way or the other but there are things that appear a little off. It may just be that all the AI we’ve been seeing has made me overly cynical.
The hands of the lady in the dark shawl look odd. From my perspective it seems like a little bit of the base of the statue should also be visible. I can make some sense of the feet, but they also seem a bit odd. The lady at our far right is standing in ballet’s 5th position.
My daughter started very young. She took mixed dance lessons (no hitting the students). She picked up steps and positions very quickly, and transitioned smoothly… a natural dancer. But she enjoyed while in elementary & high school, she had no desire to push it any further.
Aha!
Did some further digging after replying to BaconBoy.
Found a blogger who demonstrates (or contends, if you’re not sure whether to believe him) that it’s not AI, but good old fashioned Photoshop.
A real photo of a group of Italian nuns taking a selfie in St Peter’s Square, in Rome, overlaid on a photo of Michelangelo’s David.
It does not address the question of the original nun photo being AI, but as he wrote about it in 2019 and said it had been circulating for several years, it seems fairly unlikely.
But just to check, I tested it on my two (so far) favorite AI detectors.
One said 99% human, 0% AI (dunno about that missing 1%)
The other said 87% AI, 13% human.
Okaaaay….
But the 2nd one says it’s mostly for artwork, and that photos can sometimes fool it.
And I don’t know whether either detects Photoshop or calls it AI.
If you want to read his short but interesting commentary yourself, about deepfake and the social and political implications of doctored photos, go here:
You gotta admit her enthusiasm, and her penchant for authenticity….
And maybe her knife handling….
But that last one’s kinda dependent on whether everybody makes it through dinner safely.
A few points off for minor wounds…
A bigger ding on her record for any severed body parts.
And we’re not even going to touch on… Well… You know. But I hope none of that happens!
Meanwhile…. I don’t think anybody has been visibly injured between the panels… hope that’s not a spoiler!
There are nine other differences that you can find, though.
If you want to compare your finds with mine….

Merry Christmoose.

Take a gander at that!
Geese in a row!
Isn’t it supposed to be ducks?
Every time I think I have all my ducks in a row, someone adds more.
Must be a traffic jam, judging by all the honking.
BOO! 😄
Wow. That’s quite the gaggle.

There’s a cause I can get behind. Let me get a sign and I’ll join you.
It’s the only way to travel.

Nope
You’re disapproving of a bevy of art connoisseurs? They’re admiring those well-turned knees…

Some people can just naturally stand in 4th position, which that might be if there’s some space between her feet.
My evil childhood ballet teacher used to hit people’s feet with her blackboard.pointer to remind them to close the gap.
Hard to tell.
I tried to get there through 2 or 3 years of ballet lessons and never made it to 4th.. Actually, or 3rd, not perfectly.
5th was an impossible dream.

Babushkas!
Nuns.
Grey Nuns, perhaps?
https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/grey-nuns#:~:text=The%20women%20finally%20began%20their,reminders%20of%20their%20humble%20origins.
Grey nuns are far more modern looking.
They no longer wear habits or wimples.
The ones in this picture are in tan habits, and look very European to me.
I thought they were Eastern European, but so far, my search suggests Italian…
Which makes sense, since they’re in Italy….
And also might help explain their access to expensive looking leather bags.

I’ll attach the photo evidence he posted below.
That explains why the shadows are so bad. I can accept that.

That’s an ocelot of love there.
I don’t want to put you on the spot… But you might have leopard to the wrong conclusion.
(Ok ok, I know that pun doesn’t really work, but don’t be catty about it…. sniffle…. You don’t have to hurt my felines😿)
LOL {no reply; cat’s got my tongue}
Thanks!
I believe we’ve seen pictures of these two previously. Maybe even these pictures.
help me find my kitty!
Got it.
I found an otter — does that count?
If it’s the same one I see, I thought it was a second kitty.
Anotter kitty?
I was just realizing that I missed a pun when I saw that you made it.
I’m definitely slipping😁.
An otter kitty indeed.
Find one cat or the otter and you win.
Got it!
OK; I’ll operate the electric can opener.
That’s the easy way, get the cat to come to you.
Egads! Only 7.
Seven…
Cleo’s really cooking tonight!

Yes!
I got eight!
It took me a while, but I got all nine.
I had to stop at 7. I have cleaning to do.
X – 1!
I’ll say this for Cleo: At least she appears to have her attention focused on the flame.
