You probably think you know that this is

a scene from…
the 1958 movie, “The Fly”

But don’t be so smug!
It turns out that you are wrong!

I did a search, and to my surprise, it is NOT from that movie.

It’s from

a different movie!

The 1959 sequel, “Return of the Fly”!

Bwah-ha-hah!

How about the 1986 remake? Friends of mine worked as “fly wranglers ” on that one!

I appreciated the first one for its lack of gore and true horror.

Even as a child, it didn’t scare me.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t say the same about the remake, which, given my avoidance of horror movies, I never would have seen, had I not been lied to.

I had nightmares from it, and it made me feel creeped out ever since by Jeff Goldblum.

Cool background. Where did they shoot this scene? And how did they get the characters shrunk down to fit into it???

SusanSunshine

They didn’t shrink them… they merely called an agency and said “We’d like to hire a small cast, for a little film we’re doing.”

And she’s so blase about it. “Hi, honey, how was your day?”

And he says, “same old, same old.”

You know there’s a story just under the credits, waiting to be told. πŸ™‚

Ooh it’s a Schipperke like I had!
You don’t see many of them.

They have the proportions of much larger dogs… so it’s hard to tell in a picture like this, but they’re only about a foot tall and 14 pounds.

I’m doing so well…. Not.

Last night I was buying this as real life… took till today to realize it was from

a movie…
Breaking Away, from 1979.

And that I hadn’t even recognized

the (then-young) actors…
the last three of whom I should have known: Dennis Christopher, Jackie Earle Haley, Daniel Stern (who played the burglar in Home Alone), and Dennis Quaid,

@ Alexkiakos.
Once in the past i posted a video by Deep Sea Oddities and you asked about a leggy critter that was on the extro credits. I think this is the creature that you were talking about. Sea Spider. It’s all legs and mouth. It’s guts are actually in its legs.
