What is the sound of one pup asking for attention? What is his real purpose in this life? What was he in his last life that he should be so honored to help these young acolytes learn the true purpose in life?
The other dogs – not so much.
They get stolen from their rightful owners to sell them as “rescues” to other countries.
Less painful than the abduction of little children in South Korea in the 60s/70s, but…
I’m sorry… I don’t know which “other dogs” you’re referring to.
In Istanbul it would be far easier to “steal” these pampered strays than go to people’s homes to steal their pets.
…
In other countries, and probably there too, high value pedigree dogs are often stolen and sold…
But not as rescues, at least in the US, because the agencies that take rescues don’t pay for them…
In fact they have to solicit funding to care for them and find them homes, which is almost always non profit.
…
Human child stealing, ie abduction, and essentially selling, under the guise of private “adoption”, still goes on, and is an international disgrace.
A large percentage occurs in Asia, and a fair amount in Africa… But some happens almost everywhere.
There’s an expensive black market in blonde blue-eyed babies, too… Often Russian or Eastern European, but it happens elsewhere too… even to American and German children.
I was referring to Spain (including the abductions) and Crete (mistreatment, to put it mildly). Sorry; but you’ve hit a sore spot with Istanbul’s generosity. Which is great and highly recommendable.
Like I’ve got sick with a German football (soccer to some of you) club “purchasing” (slave market?!?) a player for 100 million Euro – while the German finance minister agreed to merely 10 billion (Milliarden here) Euro to fight child poverty here in Germany. WTF!!!
We know some of those Korean children who have vivid memories of their abductions – and parents in South Korea are still desperately searching for their children after several decades now.
My first car. 7 days a week, rain or shine, delivering newspapers to people on mountain roads. Part of my calling in this life. Taught me a bit about auto mechanics so I could help people as a tow truck driver, mechanic, and mechanical designer so things weren’t designed so crazily for the next poor sap. Basic logic is a wonderful thing.

Nancy Roman Space Telescope. The launch is still several years out. I just saw the telescope on a test rig, without the “tube” around it. I got a tour of the facility where it’s being assembled courtesy of my daughter’s boyfriend, who works on it. You should see the incredible huge vacuum chambers where they test it. I have no pictures of course, no cameras, no cell phones, and no electronics were allowed in. It was friends & family day, and it was AWESOME!!!!
Like installing microphones on a probe to a planet with weather (finally!)?
(Inspired by a girl who wrote to NASA who’s blind friend mentioned that it would be nice to hear something from there.)
No surprise we’ve never heard anything from Martians.
Imagine Open Mic Night there before: “Is this thing on?”
Surprised she didn’t drive them into the center of his head. Wouldn’t have hurt anything, because Don Martin characters are almost always drawn without a brain (or a clue).

BUNNY!
Um… Ok…
I know I did this before, cos I wasn’t crazy about the way the butterfly was drawn. I haven’t changed my opinion.
But here you go, anyway…
He’s sort of near the upper left corner.
I “circled” him with a red butterfly shape, but it didn’t seem visible enough, so I added a blue square
.
i needed your help. again!
Butterflies are just moths that haven’t earned their instrument flight ratings, so they’re only allowed to fly during the day.
Then why do they get the fancier uniforms?
Broad daylight?

And what made it smart enough to turn to vegans?
.
Maybe it was raised by temple-cats. They suck on visitors and love dried cuttlefish.
,.
Maybe it’s time to pet the rest of him, and understand why he lived here at this time.
What happened to Rufo is common in Turkey!
I recently saw a video about stray animals there.
They’ve made it illegal to harm cats and dogs… I don’t know about other animals like rabbits or squirrels.
…
There are about half a million cats and dogs in Istanbul…
The city has set up feeding stations and sleep shelters. Vaccination and neutering are covered by the government.
There are vending machines from which passersby can buy small amounts of pet food to give the animals.
Everybody feeds and pets them.
They roam the streets, sleep in the parks, and freely get on and off public transportation!

are you and your family safe from that horrible hurricane? keep us posted!

Learn from nature and enjoy it, but don’t try to think you’re so wise that you can change it overnight. Study the very long cycles and adapt to them.

WOW!
Worked on some of this stuff early on. Fascinating how they’ve evolved and adapted as the science has improved.

I’m kinda partial to the version on the BST3 album. But then, that’s one of my favoritest albums of all time.
