It’s the harness half of a dog harness leash; if you zoom it up you can just make out the other part around the dog’s neck.

That’s his leash. He finally got free and decided they are never going to catch me now. I will not be tamed!! Free! Free!

In the chase scene the bad guy driver/actor is also the stunt driver. His passenger is not, and the reactions you see on his face are not acting.

From yesterday.

From:
The New Oxford Dictionary of English
Published by: Oxford University Press (1998)
ISBN 0-19-861263-X

punga  ►  noun variant spelling of ponga

ponga (also punga  ►  noun NZ a tree fern
found in forests throughout New Zealand. Also
called SILVER FERN
Cyathea dealbata family Cyatheaceae
— ORIGIN mid 19th cent.: from Maori

As for the rest of it, Susan, my brain went somewhere without me and left me to my own devices.

Ah… the brain departure is something I can understand, thanks.

But I bet you just looked up “Punga”… cos punting into a New Zealand silver fern makes little more sense than punting into a vulgar Chilean person.

BTW… I notice you’re slipping back into using giant fonts and avatars to grab our attention…

Just something to consider:

Sorry, but to me, that’s like shouting in all caps in other forums… maybe more so.

Like you’re trying, purposely or not, to make your comments look more important than everyone else’s.

I like to think that’s not your intent.

If all of us who know how to do that actually did it, this board would be a shouting match.

I’m the only Susan here… I notice my name when someone simply types Susan or @Susan in a normal size.

I recognise that they’re talking to me, which is enough for me, without seeing my whole enlarged avatar…

even though TBH I do prefer it square, and wish both GoComics and WordPress didn’t crop them round.

Not trying to dictate to you, just giving you feedback on my impression.

No, I looked up “ponga” before I used “punga” I wanted to find out what it meant before using it.
My cited copy of the O.E.D. didn’t list the Chilean slang meaning (remember ‘Shoe Cabbage’ co-authored by Teresa Burritt? / I cannot find her co-author’s name ).

As I recall, it was David Stanford, who was also the “Aide de Sherpa”, until March 2021.

….

I didn’t realise “ShoeCabbage” had been removed from the GoComics lineup.

It didn’t update for several years; then it started over in reruns for a while.

We have first Clark Kent, and now the Lonesome Stranger (as mom used to call him). Who else might pop up?

Buenos dias, Cleomigos!

Perro rides… um… OK… well, I can’t exactly say again, not yet or that he’s actually riding

I’m sure he has ridden, previously, but we eager fans on Cleo and Company have not yet seen him in the saddle…

so how about… “Perro rides soon! (I’m pretty sure)”…

Meanwhile, we get to enjoy the scenery, costuming, and especially the character development, sipping our coffee, as it moseys along.

Here’s to a long ride!

I love this arc!

Anyway, Don Doggo has made it to the hacienda,

Where we discover that he was summoned by his querido Papà

himself a courtly figure, in his white suit, with the look and the air of a true Spanish gentleman.

Yet even he is a bit more up-to-date than Don Doggo on cultural icons.

I’m starting to think that television reception must have been rather poor, in Spain, at that time.

Fernando needs to give Don Doggo an education. Too many things are going over his head.
