I know they practiced, they trusted, they planned… but I can’t see how it wouldn’t be at least a little, wee, bit… or in my case, a LOT… terrifying!
If it’s working correctly, a coffeepot pours almost-but-not-quite-boiling water over the ground coffee, which then drips into the pot below… so it’s even a few degrees cooler than that by the time it fills up.
The warmer plate keeps it hotter than I prefer, but nowhere near boiling…. If it kept the water boiling the coffee would be ruined.
Even making dreadful “cowboy coffee” over an open flame, you only boil it for a minute, not the 8 minutes that spaghetti would take.
Hope this would-be chef enjoys slightly warm, wet on the outside, raw pasta.
I hope the other contraption is just for brushing teeth.
I tried to get some more info, like the date, and the place….but it’s been published on, of all things, a birthday card .. because it so clearly lends itself to the celebration of a festive occasion… and every link was a link to the sale of the card, with its lame joke.
And no, it wasn’t even the racy joke one might expect… just something about there never being too much of a good thing.
The women behind the counter are dressed like nurses, but that used to be fairly common in supermarkets, even through the 1950s, to suggest surgical cleanliness, in spite of the unwrapped, unrefrigerated sausages piled on the counter.
Nowadays, of course, the sausages would all be sealed in packages, all 3 or 4 kinds they carry, in a self serve, refrigerated display… and not even nurses dress like that.
I’ve never seen this many kinds in an American market, though the workers somehow look American. I do miss some of the kinds they did carry… I just went on a quest to just to find liverwurst, and I haven’t seen landjaeger in years.
They said he was the 88th wonder of the world… but I think he’s right up there with the 8th… in fact, when the puny humans made their copydog version, they claimed the 8th spot. But they should have said 9th… because King Hound was ahead of them!
Rotten Tomatoes called it the best horror film of all time… But you know, I don’t call it that. Not because it doesn’t deserve the ranking; not because it isn’t scary… but because I don’t call it a horror film.
It’s an adventure film, with overtones of both scariness and tragedy.
A giant hound, provoked, captured, tempted with a great beauty… Fray Way at the height of her canine powers… and thus led to a death I never thought he deserved «sniffle»
Anyway, we saw the poster the other day… but since then, a few small changes have been made… Actually, nine of them, by my count. … so it’s being re-released for your sleuthing pleasure

Yesterday I put a cap on Panda and she stayed still long enough for this.
She has a knowing, soulful look. And, thanks to the hat, jaunty too.
The hat accentuates the eyepatch, and makes her look like an old sea-dog.
