Thanks to tonight’s DJ, those were all enjoyable songs from my younger days. I noticed the Rascals have both a typical drummer (who does not engage with the camera) and a tall drum played by one of the singing Rascals. I wonder how they decide to share the drumming duties?
Well, after they (the weather people) put the fear of the cosmos into all of us New Englanders, the so-called hurricane turned into just a common couple of rainy days in our area…no high wind or flooding. Not that I’m complainin’, mind you!!
At one point, it looked like the worst part of it would end up being right over my house! I confess, I was really nervous about it, and it seemed everybody was out in town, stocking up on supplies in case of flooding and power outages! So, now, I have everything I need for an emergency….better safe than sorry.
Some areas did have a rougher time like down in the NYC metro area, and some coastal regions. Also, in mid NY state where the storm has stalled. So, we were extremely fortunate that this slow-moving storm continued to veer away from us.
Of course, it’s still hurricane season and the Caribbean and Southern states usually have more than their share of emergency weather. It’s rare that we get the full brunt of a hurricane up here, but it does happen (Hurricane Sandy comes to mind, but again, worse in NY/NJ than here). So, when they start sounding the alarm, it’s smart to heed it. But, today, at least, we’re ALL breathing a sigh of relief, with fingers crossed that it doesn’t pick up a full head of steam again!! Meanwhile, there are tornado warnings and funnel sightings right now about 60-70 miles from here, so not everybody is out-of-the-woods yet.
to EVERYBODY: Thanks for all the good wishes the past few days!! You all provided a lot of great karma!
There is another vid on YouTube where someone is forming several at once outdoors in some industrial area. The car alarm going off in the background after is the best part. 🙂
