Hi!.

No, sorry, Steve hasn’t been in today.

If you’d like to stay, he’ll probably be along later.

May I offer you some lettuce or celery leaves while you wait?

Not sure what to think. There are plenty of AI type errors, but it’s a signed painting. The errors may be artistic license (it’s a pleasing image), but I think the picture would be better without them: #1 no wire contacting the the pick-up above the trolley. #2 those indistinct bright red signs(?)/lights(?)/whatever. #3 no distinctly formed letters.

I think it’s either AI or maybe something done in one of those art mills where they spew out generic paintings to sell.

The artist signing with no last name, the year 2024, the unfamiliarity of the cityscape. No traffic or parking lane in the narrow street.
No destination sign on the trolley.

Not in San Francisco, probably in no American city.

I made a later post about checking it with AI detectors.

From what part of the ship is this viewed? Facing what direction (fore, aft, or abeam)?

Since it looks like the wheelhouse, probably a-fore.
No one at the helm.

AFAIK that would usually be on a slightly higher deck… so she seems to be sinking in rough seas.

No one at the wheel, no pointy end to the boat. Weird places to hang sails… not even good AI!

I thought the pointy end was already underwater…. along with the deck just below.

I also checked this one with AI detectors.

I mean, what kind of artist name is “Can Digitat” or “Can Digital”?

Inconclusive results reported later on this page.

I had to take a second look to get my eyes accustomed to tan seas and blue (and other colors) land.

Never would have gotten it. I was going to guess Alfred E. Newman.

The composer has no E, I believe…

So you mean the… um.. fictional character? 😁

I knew I recognized the young face, in some way, but couldn’t quite place it.

As soon as I saw

the adult
Willie Nelson

I kicked myself for not getting it.

Not TOO hard. I didn’t want to make myself cry.

I don’t like this.
I don’t really know why, I just don’t.

It appears so.

I’m guessing Stel’s signature is forged. Probably lifted from a poster.

I don’t think she would be willingly complicit.

I have zero memory of Cleo’s attempt at designing greenbacks. Apparently she’s a busy little basset. Secretary of the Treasury and Treasurer of the US. She must be signing those notes 24/7.

No safety straps, or protective gear…. in fact he’s only got an arm around one rope.

Nothing to keep him from swinging in the wind , or to keep his legs together. He probably has to swing himself closer to the building when he gets up there, and let go of the ropes.

For his protection, they just yell “Hang on tight!”

Wonder how many they lost.

I tried FOUR different AI detectors on two of the images on this page that seemed questionable….
The one of the cable car, and the one of the ship’s helm.

Both are paintings. I’ve seen disclaimers on two sites saying photos can sometimes fool them, but neither of these images is a photo.

…..

Two of the detectors have been my favorites; I didn’t know that another site had recently rated them the best.

One of them rated both images 99 or 99.99% likely to be AI, the other rated them both about 80% likely to be human created.

The other two detection sites were equally split. One rated both images almost certainly human made, the other, both 99% created with AI.

So much for AI detectors… at least the free ones.

I found a couple that required registration, and others that required paid membership, claiming that their technology was superior.

But how can a mere human tell?

I suspect some of those detectors are more content based, and others more style based.

I’m sorry to say that I do think the above ten dollar note is fake

Not necessarily AI… In fact I don’t think the perpetrator of this slightly fraudulent act would know how to do AI.
And not necessarily Photoshop.

Just plain fake.

And no, I’m not accusing StelBel of this fakery.

I think it was a certain basset hound, with high aspirations, a massive sense of entitlement, and a rather loose grip on reality.

But we love her, right?
