It’s kind of funny… but it immediately made me think of a decorative dish my mother had when I was little.
It came from my uncle, who had money so it was probably expensive. I didn’t know whether Mom kept it cos she liked it, it because she thought she should cos it was expensive.
It was wide and flat, an irregular shape with vertical green sides.
The inside was grey, with a little ceramic cage thing attached in the middle that I now know is a flower holder, or “frog.”
One small, pale pink flamingo stood inside, all alone in the vast space… I remember thinking he was lonely.
You were apparently supposed to put water in the dish and arrange some short stemmed flowers in the frog, to make a little scene with the flamingo. That was way beyond my mother’s level of “craftiness”, or her idea of fun.
Not to be a nitpicker, but shouldn’t that called a silhouette, not shadow? Shadows are directly relative to the lighted object and the position of the light, not randomly tossed out in space.
.
Can I interest you in a set of encyclopedias?
At first i thought that it was some kind of tree bunny.
I almost posted a comment about Roo meeting Wol for the first time…
Breakfast in bed.
Looks more like some sort of museum or other display than a natural occurrence, especially with such perfect lighting. And most owls are nocturnal.

Who is the “wingman” here?
The child.

Looks like lunch is served.

Well that’s

Is that a lion cub?
I’d think so…. unless she’s two, and has become a young lioness. But I think they’re somewhat bigger than this .
Times Square- 1943

And he didn’t know not to bring a knife to a wits fight…
Inconceivable!

For a moment, I thought it was some sort of bracelet, or maybe some keychains, like the Guatemalan ones at World Market.
As did I.
Me too!

which shadow is the correct one?
Going with
Me too
There’s a question?
Yup.

Think Peter Pan.
Nothing like a good game of surf tag.
Are my links getting through? They keep getting hijacked by crap videos on my end!
They appear to be apropos.
Unless, of course, you didn’t mean to post “Wipeout”.
Nope, that was the one!
He’d better get out of the surf before all his stripes get washed off!
Look what happened to the second one!

Talk about your alien landscapes.
Queens

Is this their secret burial grounds?
“The Citi That Never Sleeps”.
Part of Calvary Cemetery, in Queens, NY.
Taken by photographer Orestes Gonzales, who won several prizes for it.
well deserved,….it’s a stunning contrast
I’m sure Happy³ would consider coming out of retiremesnt to do this (put smiley face here).
Nope!
Should have left it white. That gray is going to absorb more heat.
This is one of the better Star Trek spoofs I’ve seen (I was laughing throughout).
When AI is used for good and not for evil…
The original version.
The first version I heard (and now having heard the original I like this cover by “Commander Cody & his Lost Planet Airmen” better),
always liked the original
In truth, all that Claude encountered was the color Purplie.
AHEEE!
You always end up having to pay a barefoot tacks… er… tax.
I forgot to post this in time on yesterday’s strip… Just did it now, but in case you’re not going back there….
Highlighted in yellow.
And it looks like it’s been eatin’ good!
For a long time, too.
