I’ve disabled the U.R.L.s (They’re where all I’ve posted down to “Top Speed” comes from).

Taking 90% of its design top speed (144 miles per hour) as a “race cruise” speed, the first Indanapoliss 500 Cobra could have lost was 1964 the first race it would have lost is 1972 (see HERE)
Thanks for posting that, Alex.
it’s the last paragraph that should have been left out.
No, they can’t just take the 144 mph and then compare it to the 500 winner’s
average speed for the race and then calculate that the Cobra would win those
races. That’s apples and oranges. The AVERAGE speed of the race includes
pit stops and yellow light slow downs for crashes. Even the race cars of the
50’s could top 170 at the end of the straightaways easily. The Cobra’s top
speed of 160 would have not been competitive, unless there were no stops and
continued to go at that speed when conditions on the race track would have
made it unsafe.
to claim that this fancy, overpowered sportscar could win at Indy just because
it has a high top end speed is ludicrous
I’m a lot like Bacchus when getting in bed. I have to squirm and fidget until all my parts are in the proper place for sleeping. Then I sleep really good.
bet you don’t paw your mattress over and over and then turn in circles until
you get to the same place you started and then plop down as if gravity ceased
to exist.
I don’t think my husband would like me pawing the mattress and I definitely couldn’t turn in a circle. I have to get my arms just so and my legs right and my hips in the indents and the pillow just so and the covers how I like them….then I have to get my arms all situated again. If I’m lucky, I’ve got everything in the comfortable spots. This goes very quickly most night.
I just saw your comment from yesterday about the 2 guys looking like they’re trying to adjust their TV reception, and you’re absolutely right!! That is so funny!

I love the painted ladies! Is this San Francisco?
not sure. probably, since the car has California plates
did you notice the ‘A/C’ mounted on the passenger side window?
Is that what that is?
It works kind of like a swamp cooler (evaporative cooler). Great except on very humid days.
I remember having one on my parent’s 1959 Brookwood station wagon.
I didn’t know, either. I thought it was a spotlight or one of Cleo’s bazookas!
Sweet!
This would make a great jigsaw puzzle!

Bacchus is just saying he needs a blanket or something like it on top of the couch cushion so he can arrange it the way he wants to.
My QT scratches up her place like that. 🙂
He’s just having a little trouble tramping down that orange grass to make his nest.
My hypothesis is that Martians are herding cows.
a beautiful song and a beautiful video….
…
You can hear the pain in Harrison’s voice. Whether it’s because he is sick and dying, or because it’s take 27, I cannot say.
If Cleo is fast enough to grab that steak on the grass, I think she would consider that a gold medal.
Bacchus is very fussy, but eventually he got the couch where he wanted it to be.
You can’t tell me Cleo didn’t put that shot right where she wanted it.
Especially since I only saw two steaks on that grill.
She wanted to make sure at least one of them was clearly labelled “Cleo.”
…
None of this “Steaks for the humans, scraps for the dog” business where our heroine is concerned.
A nice coating of dirt and grass is very effective for relabeling food, in most households…. like changing “Clara’s steak” to “Cleo’s steak.”
Claude will probably just rinse his off. Or not.
Right! Cleo knows if it lands on the ground it is hers. Especially since she can do the Olympic paw race faster than Claude can lean down.
I love Bacchus and all the sounds he makes preparing his napping zone.

The title should’ve been “Cleo Goes For The Medium Rare”!
Well, at least she had the sense to seem embarrassed. ‘Uh-Oh’, indeed.

Put that thing away before you hurt somebody, Cleo.
