Impressive knife work!

Trying to find the artist is much more difficult since Google switched image search for “Lens”.

But the good/bad thing is, it’s so inconsistent. You get different results every time you search.

So after three searches, I found out this is by Corné Weideman, which fits as the signature I can’t quite read…

A South African artist born in 1977.

Wow!

Somebody invented the Segway nearly a century before somebody actually invented the Segway.

The two gentlemen in the rear are demonstrating one problem with them.

They didn’t become ubiquitous after this incarnation, whether this shows an actual product or merely an idea, nor after the introduction of the modern incarnation in… um.. the early 2000s??… due to some well publicized accidents.

But whoever came up with this way back then was way ahead of the times!

Went to the Bing link, thanks… but it only tells me what I can already see… That this is Kennedy and Khrushchev, and the famous “red telephone” on the cover of an Italian newspaper.

But they never had a video link, so I knew this was speculative.

I fell asleep trying to look it up, and couldn’t post it then, but I did find a translation, to get the story. Turns out to be before the line was installed.

Here you go (Google translation):

“A brilliant project. It seems that the installation of a direct telephone line between the White House and the Kremlin is being studied so that Kennedy and Khrushchev can communicate directly with each other at any time of the day or night, with the collaboration of a team of interpreters.

Indeed, there are those who would like to complete the system with television broadcasting. There is no doubt that if this were achieved, the contrasts between West and East would be smoothed out more easily than has happened up to now. Article by Dino Buzzati & pR 5”.

Lime green led sled.

Thank you!

I had a friend with a hot rod shop and another who modified old cars, but I somehow never heard (or maybe just don’t remember) that term.

Lead sled.

From Wikipedia:

“A lead sled is a standard production automobile with a body heavily modified in particular ways… especially, though not exclusively, a 1949, 1950, or 1951 model year Ford ‘Shoebox’ or Mercury Eight car.”

“Originally, the lead sled referred to extensively repaired/modified cars due to the use of lead as body filler and was, for the most part, an insult.”

It’s beautiful for its novelty, and looks sleek from the side. But talk about low-riders! How do you keep it from continually bottoming out on anything but a perfectly smooth roadbed?
And with those rear wheel covers, good luck changing a flat.

Just looks like a green blob, to me.

Air suspension, it rises to get going. And the rear wheel spats are easily removed for tire changes.

A Sphynx cat.

They were bred to look like that, by crossing different breeds, about 60 years ago.

They still cost a couple thousand dollars!

Yeah

I guess
, I didn’t think the one in plain sight counted, so I kept looking for a hidden one.

But that’s gotta be it.

This has to be part of a multiple find picture because I see a number of things that don’t make sense, like the compass under the sled for one.

The sturgeons in the Columbia River never accepted this law. 90% of them are delicious!

I have been known to do this one, banging out the riff on the bass strings. Gotta do the voice, too

“In the American system of justice, the people are represented by lawyers who drive around in great, big trucks. . .”

And then said punchline.

I’ve always loved that song, and Liza’s performance, from Cabaret…

One of my all time favorite movies.
