Blossom went bye bye 😢….

Nighthawks doesn’t seem to have brought her back in a new post… Can’t tell cos most of those have disappeared too.

Spotted it straight away (I think)

It’s located:
In the dog’s armpit in the entrance of the kennel

No, that puzzle disappeared and nighthawks replaced it with another.

The first puzzle was replacing the picture of a basset that liverlips was calling Blossom.

Then a puzzle with a baby chick.
Now one with a rabbit.

Tomorrow probably just a missing picture icon again.

The cartoon has changed, the bunny is

Hiding
Halfway down on the right, just above the man’s opera glasses.

Dunno if this image will stay here this time….

But in case it does…

It’s the Grand Canyon on a very slow exposure… I think they said 14 hours, taken from a lookout point on the rim.

The lightening strikes are actually hours apart… This is cropped from a longer panorama, showing several others.

I was about to post this last night but when I came back the image had disappeared.

In English it’s a Hoopoe.

It’s actually the national bird of Israel, except there are three varieties, which look very much alike, and I don’t know whether this one is that one.

Just in case this picture sticks around….

It’s the cast of a movie, as you might suspect…

called…
Career, from 1959

And here we have….

Dean Martin, Shirley MacLaine, Anthony Franciosa, Carolyn Jones and Joan Blackman

Robin Hood (though not a robin) and Little John, avian version:

Behold thou my beak, it is lusty and sleek,
On this long narrow bridge let us play;
Then he who falls off, the other shall scoff
Win the battle and then we’ll away.”

Well, we’ve still got the puzzle, plus the videos up top, and half (for me) of nighthawks’ posts in the comments.

The images tonight say u.cubeupload.com instead of Postimage.

They also won’t download, which is strange. I download images to search them… I have to screenshot these, which loses information and resolution, especially if they’re 2nd generation screenshots.

Nighthawks… if you’re testing a new image hosting site, I’d say it kinda failed.

What did you do to Postimage?? Tsk tsk.

But no, this new one does not work just because you can see the images when you post them.

They’re being removed… Last night I posted about one theory… I hope you’ll read it.

As for the puzzle, it looks like sweet little DestructoDog is getting a scolding from Mama. But Mama must have gone to the Claude and Clara Clifford School of Dog Management.

She uses gentler words, I’m thinking. But just as effective as a few “confound it!!”s from Claude.

Mrs. Richguest isn’t overly impressed.

Did poor widdle Destwucto chew up hew new gwoves? Surewy it was an accident, wight?

But Mrs Richguest is busy counting all the ruined purses and hats and other accoutrements in the very room where they were asked to leave them.

She’s also trying to count to ten before exploding.

Meanwhile…. YOU go ahead and count to ten, as well. But you’ll be counting

TEN differences between the panels:

Wow…. I just came back after an hour of doing other stuff… And now all the pictures except the first and last are gone.

The last is not on that u.cube site, but the first is… Bye bye, sleepy basset, if you end up leaving too, though of course I’d rather you stick around.

I was going to tell you guys that the brown and white birds in two pictures were hoopoes… but I guess it doesn’t matter now.

Maybe they’ll all come back?

In answer to myself…
I just googled “u.cubeupload.com”.

If I’ve found the correct site, it seems to be “cubeupload.com”, without the U, which it must just add to the URLs of the pictures.

I also found some discussions about blocked or disappearing pictures from that URL.

To the best of my understanding, it sounds like some users of it… not the site itself… were found to be spreading malware, using images hosted there, so some anti-malware software includes it on the list of URLs to block or remove.

It could be that whatever such software WordPress uses discovers it when it runs periodic checks, and removes it.

Just a guess.

The ‘u.’ part of the URL is the ‘User’ section of the website where it holds the files. Imgur adds an ‘i.’ to the URL for the same reason.

Unfortunately….”Showing for a few minutes”, maybe even a few hours, doesn’t mean “working”.

The basset image that was first in the forum was still up at 2am but gone by today.

I still think it night be an anti-malware tool that’s finding and removing them.
