He… or she… seems very bumpy for a giraffe.
But I’m not going to ask nosy questions, cos giraffes are waaaay bigger than you’d think.

In pictures they’re so graceful, with even a sort of delicacy about them. You forget they actually weigh 2,500 pounds. They’re born 6 feet tall.

BTW…. this picture and the one of the ibexes below were both taken by the same photographer… Goran Anastasovski …. not in the wild, but inside the Skopje Zoo, near his home in Macedonia.

Sweet little baby can probably already climb a rock face that would give me a heart attack, and do it with complete nonchalance.

That’s what the bowl of petunias thought when they materialised in orbit in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

The people who made this clip are fine, upstanding citizens of wherever. They are being completely honest and sincere when they call it an “insane pool trick shot.”

Maybe it’s a hook-‘n-no-ladder truck.

Even so, you’d think firefighters would know better!

And without them (and other insects), there would be much, much less foodstuff in this world.
No wheat. No corn. No fruits.
No life.

Cool! (The dark spot between the eye and the nostril is the “pit” an infrared sensor that gives “Pit vipers” their name)

Awfully close photography.

Is he yawning, or trying to bite my nose?

Hmmmm. You wouldn’t catch me putting MY nose that close to a snake. You must be braver than you let on!

Slush is mean.

You have to deal with snow being icy cold and rain being wet… It’s not fair to have to deal with something that’s both.

Agreed. But the worst weather, as far as I’m concerned, is freezing rain. It is no good for any living thing. It is mother nature’s way, or one of them, of flipping off the entire biosphere of the planet.

I can certainly see him taking off like a shot when the gun sounds, but he won’t be running any 200 meters, let alone 400. A mad dash to the closest LARGE OBJECT for hiding under/behind is the most you can expect. Still, he will likely beat all the humans to that distance.

He isn’t actually wearing most of that decor… It’s attached to the large tree branch he’s carrying.

But it’s a ballet, so he’s dancing, with the branch in one hand, festooned with ornaments and flickering candles, and a heavy sword in the other.

Not a lot of bassets can do that!

It looks bucolic and peaceful, but that roof may be in a bit of disrepair. I’d check it out if it was mine. Maybe manana, because it doesn’t leak when it isn’t raining.

On most virtual keyboards you don’t have to … it’s one of the characters included in a long press on the “n”…. mañana!

Hahaha!

One of the only times Android is easier than Windows.

There’s supposed to be a way to type the ~ and n at the same time, and get ñ on a computer, but either I never mastered it or I forgot how. Or I had the wrong kind of computer.

I also used to know a bunch of ascii codes by heart…. sigh…..
