Stel,
Thank you for reminding me that I need to keep things in perspective, that I am blessed…

Does anyone know if the Rolling Stones took their name from this song?

Brian Jones actually formed the band…

Jagger and Richards had previously jammed with a band he was in, and then joined him when he advertised for bandmates to form a new group.

He was actually the leader until they became the songwriters, and their management wanted to focus on them.

Keith Richards says Jones had named the band after a Muddy Waters record.

I have loved the Nutbiscuit poster since I first set eyes on it.

My favorite dance in the Stowell-Sendak production at Pacific Northwest Ballet was the Peacock (Arabian Dance). That production had issues with racist stereotypes, I admit, but I am sorry to see it replaced by the Balanchine version.

The Snowflakes provide a geat opportunity for kids in the pipeline to get onstage.

Once, when driving through the Redwoods in northern California, i got to hear a recording of Linus & Lucy played on a 12 string guitar and it was magical.
I don’t know the name of the artist or even the station ( independent, i’m sure ).

The Nutbiscuit!
One of the treasures of the holiday season!

Especially with glitter everywhere!

What a nice little doggy, gracefully holding both that heavy tree and a sword… probably a very talented young dancer.

It’s a ballet, and often they cast students from ballet schools, except for the principals.

There’s a lot of competition for roles.

….

I’m glad Cleo didn’t insist on playing a role. I was afraid she would, when she saw the costumes and glitter.

Not only does it take a level of strength and precision that require a dancer, not an actress,

but were our glamorous movie star in it, she’d probably insist on playing Clara.

(And don’t tell her, but I don’t really think that would be a great idea.)

Every time I look at this poster, I hear the music….
Ooooh….

I love to see the Nutbiscuit at Christmas!
Dum dum da dum dum, da dah!

Look at that human copy…

What a homely fellow, to replace that adorable dog!
Sometimes I just can’t understand casting decisions.

And the colors…. not half so pretty!

And of course, no glitter at all.

I may be a human… I think I am…

But I wish humans showed as much good taste in the arts as basset hounds.
