I don’t think this is brand specific. Because cellphones are plain metal/plastic rectangles he needed an identifiable brand to make it clear it’s a phone.
This LINK takes you to the Wikipedia article on Robby the Robot. After his initial appearance in “Forbidden Planet” (something I never knew) he (it?) had a long career of guest appearances in other television shows and movies either as himself, or acting as another character. The article lists 44 appearances including in the commercial below which also casts other well known robots/androids.
Apparently, this is an actual photograph taken under a microscope.
I can find no photographer named Borda that fits with this picture (there are a number on the ‘web).
Today’s Songs:
1. ‘Elusive Butterfly,’ 2. ‘Eres tu,’ 3. ‘Every Rose Has its Thorn,’ and 4. ‘Fire,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe 5. Chili Roast Chicken’
1. Bob Lind said the song was inspired by the W.B. Yeats’ poem ‘The Song of Wandering Aengus’ (Aengus being an Irish god / youth, love, summer, and poetry). I’ve put a video of the poem being performed below.
2. Spain’s entry to Eurovision in 1973, it came in second against ‘Tu Te Reconnaîtras’ by Anne-Marie David representing Luxembourg (that well known European country, Israel, debuted that year). Her performance is below.
3. Written in a Dallas laundromat when Brett Michaels called his girlfriend on a payphone (remember those?) and heard a male voice in the background.
Your weird fact for the day:
Laundromat was, up until 1993, a registered trademark of Westinghouse, that’s why it’s likely your word processing program will capitalize the ‘L’ if you don’t type it that way (Word does / that’s why you’re reading this).
4. I like the song, but every video I’ve ever seen is too tacky for my taste, that’s why I’ve posted the album version (the cover will give you an idea of how tacky the videos are).
5. Tomorrow, a one day break from chicken, and then the final chicken on Thursday (not to say that there won’t be chicken as part of other recipes, but at least ‘chicken’ won’t be in the name).
Edited in later:
Oops ! !
I just searched the rest of the recipes; there are in fact 14 more recipes with ‘chicken’ in the name, but I’ll have run out of songs to post before most of them come up.
FIRE! What a great song. It thankfully never got as much air play as it deserved. Many of my old favorites have unfortunately been overplayed to where they’re no longer favorites. This one still excites me 🙂
Thanks for the link.
A large sauce pan or an 8 cup glass microwaveable measuring cup, and two 12 fl. oz. beer mugs or other thick large glass.
Ingredients:
2 cups whole milk (3.25% milk fat) and only whole milk; we’re after taste and feeling good.
1/3 cup sugar in each of your drinking mugs
1/2 teaspoon cocoa or to taste (not cocoa mix) in each of your drinking mugs (I use Fry’s / they recommend 1 tablespoon cocoa per 1 cup and 1 tablespoon of milk.
Using a spoon thoroughly mix together the dry sugar and cocoa in the mugs. (The sugar separates the cocoa grains so they don’t clump.)
If you’re using marshmallows put them in the mugs after mixing the cocoa and sugar.
Pour the milk into the saucepan or measuring cup and boil it. (Yes, boil it.)
If you’re using the stove top method, use only medium heat to start, and stir regularly so the milk doesn’t scorch.
When the milk has boiled, (now you see why the container had to be large) split it evenly between the prepared mugs, stir, and enjoy your cocoa!!
Notes from me:
1 tablespoon of cocoa in one cup and tablespoon of milk is way too strong for my taste, that’s why I cut it back.
If you’re using a microwave, put a glass pie plate under the milk container so if it does boil over it’s just a matter of cleaning a pie plate.
