From the moment I saw his first music video, I was taken by the strength of his voice and vocals, of the promises yet to come from him and Jim Steinman. Gone too soon due to complications of CoVId. Bat Out Of Hell and some of Bat Out Of Hell II were his best. His Wikipedia listing is so very interesting to read as well.
The painting doesn’t say they’re chimps, and the book definitely says they’re monkeys.
If you’re saying Van Allsberg gave them rather chimp like faces in this illustration, that could be… but it says more about his vision or maybe his artistic limitations than about anybody calling them chimpanzees.
I don’t know enough to say there are no monkeys that look like that, either.
I am WAY too tired for this but I have to give it a try.
I’ll be back… Maybe not till afternoon.
Some of these are British shows and some American.

There’s a whole genre of so called veiled statuary.
I’ve never seen a piece up close in real life, and it fascinates me.
This is not a marble statue draped in a veil… It’s one piece, including the veil, carved out of a solid block of marble.
The “cloth” is not translucent, it’s sculpted to look that way. You’re not actually seeing her eyes through the veil, but the veil, carved as though to reveal them beneath.
A stork/bullfrog cross?
Bullfrog caught in his throat?
Looks like maybe a full crop.
Or a crop failure…
This is a Brazilian Jabiru, a particularly large kind of stork.
According to Wikipedia, it’s the tallest flying bird in South and Central America, with adult males reaching about 5 feet.
In the Tupi-Guarani language, Jabiru means “swollen neck”. What a surprise.
The skin of its head and neck is featherless, and the pink part is especially stretchy.
They say that while it looks odd and ungainly on the ground (no kidding), it’s a beautiful and graceful flyer.
.
What is this about you Dorothy, are you just a tornado magnet?
That appears to be heading from cloud to ground at an angle! Are they allowed to do that?
They can do anything they want as far as I’m concerned…!
One of the only times I’m kind of hoping something is AI.
..
The epitome of style.
A Pierrot hat…. perhaps she is a famous actress, incognito.
.,
Followed by the epitome of no class.
NOT Twilight Zone?
…nor Star Wars
I’d heard that Captain Kirk could charm the pants off anybody…
It was in his contract…
I wonder what’s in hers.
I highly recommend “Woman in Motion” again.

’56 Chevy
As I recall, you twist that little knob at the top of the taillight to swing the taillight assembly down for access to the gas cap.
How very convenient.
bingo. my dad had one was used to having to inform some of the gas jockeys where the gas cap was
.,,
That’s
Right people….
Two out of three ain’t bad.
A really underrated singer, IMHO!
I agree.
From the moment I saw his first music video, I was taken by the strength of his voice and vocals, of the promises yet to come from him and Jim Steinman. Gone too soon due to complications of CoVId. Bat Out Of Hell and some of Bat Out Of Hell II were his best.

That was my first impression, but the picture looked so unlike the actors…
Chris Van allsberg
More fun than a kitchen full of monkeys!
Jumanji?
Ding ding! Winner!
I don’t know whether you were remembering or guessing…
But this is the original cover of the book!
It was written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsberg.
I believe there were later editions with illustrations based on the movies instead.
Just a guess! 😀
Gosh… You could’ve claimed the memory!
I’m kinda amazed in myself for making the connection. 🙂
The subliminal mind is an amazing thing.
Chimpanzees don’t have tails.
?
You are right. I see tails.
I do too … The question mark was because I didn’t see anybody mention chimpanzees.
The painting?
The painting doesn’t say they’re chimps, and the book definitely says they’re monkeys.
If you’re saying Van Allsberg gave them rather chimp like faces in this illustration, that could be… but it says more about his vision or maybe his artistic limitations than about anybody calling them chimpanzees.
I don’t know enough to say there are no monkeys that look like that, either.
Most of the animals in Jumanji were a bit off from reality.
I worry about doing that sitting down o a kitchen chair…
Yeah, you really shouldn’t try to ride a bike on a kitchen chair.
It’s very easy to fall over.
..,
I get the feeling I should have been watching more TV programs…
I am WAY too tired for this but I have to give it a try.
I’ll be back… Maybe not till afternoon.

It’s annoying to use, that’s why I put the answers in a spoiler box.
Thanks… Looks like I got eleven out of 20.
IMO I should have gotten #15, but #1 was an impossible clue.
Never heard of the other seven shows.
seems like to much work, right?
Nope. If i can’t get it tonight, i might tomorrow.
And not worth stressing over.
I’m here for fun. 🙂
And I’m a puzzlaholic…. wrong person to ask.
There have been a few with just too many little things…
Like I remember a couple with, say, find the tractor that’s different out of 6473 teensy ones (give or take)… that were too tedious to try.
I just wish some of these were better executed.
I got 3 of them.
10.
6
.,,,
😀 <3
I’d love to see the manufacturer’s name. They probably have some other perfectly fine products.
here you go……I’ll repost it tomorrow
Out of Asheville, NC. Large portions of the city were destroyed in the hurricane. I wonder how these folks fared?
At least probably nobody tracked water in.
When all else fails, read the directions.
LOL!
Like the tag on Top Gear clothing merch.
The manufacturer is called HighCotton gifts.
They make, among other things, doormats with jokes on them….
So they make the labels funny too.
Excellent service.
Not a safe occupation, unfortunately….
Everybody he delivers to will want to keep him… And some might try.
‘The Veiled Woman’ sculpted by Italian artist Giovanni Battista Antonelli in 1869.
It’s hard to look at a photo and even imagine it.
Incredible skill!
Like the guys that could carve lace.
There’s some lace here, edging the shawl.
It might be the knitted kind.. a bit thicker than some very delicate lace I’ve seen carved, but still quite impressive.
Check the underneath fold, in the first picture, near the pedestal.
While you’re at it, just look at the braid of hair above her forehead.
Amazing.
Yes!
Thank you for the recap, Nighthawks…. I hadn’t forgotten, but it never hurts to be reminded.
And now….. ¡Dios Mio!
It’s ¡Perro™ in action!
Most people try to leap out of jail… but our brave Perro™ leaps in!
…
It’s for the daring rescue of Senorita Voluptuosa…
She who somehow, I think, mysteriously attracts our Perro™…
What could it be about her?
“Fair young maiden” indeed… though to be fair, her considerable charms are not the only thing that lures him to action.
…
He is dedicated, we all know, to freeing the poor people of the village from the likes of Commandante Slurez…
along with the horrid Mayor Asesinato…. I don’t like the sound of him, either..
…
But now… he’s been spotted!
Is this one of Slurez’s faithful minions…
or someone who’d just as soon look the other way?
Will Perro™‘s plan be foiled? Oh NO!
….
Once again… we’ll have to come back to see!
I’m going to reserve some space on my monitor for the next exciting episode!
Won’t you join me?
I can’t get on GoComics this morning.
Twice i got a “Queue full” message and to try again later.
6:45am Pacific.
They found the rocks to hop on.
