This is a family recipe I’ve had for years.
This one does appear in my mother’s cookbook, but I copied it before I left home.
“ EGGNOG”
1 egg
1 cup milk (whole milk only, 3.25% milk fat) (1/2 & 1/2 cream,10% milk fat, for richer taste)
1 tablespoon of honey or sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (real only not artificial)
nutmeg or cinnamon to taste
1 oz. rum (or more), optional (For adults only.)
Blend everything together and enjoy.
Note from me:
Everything should be at least refrigerator cold (the rum can be freezer cold as long as the freezer is warmer than -10° F. / there’s a generous margin allowed for altitude on the warm side).
