I am not going to click on this because I see Little Drummer Boy in the list. I try to avoid hearing that song every year.

Huh?

It’s just a picture of the box from the human video collection… nothing that plays any music…. or even the promised videos.

Unless you mean the Bing Crosby selection… the album from which it came is apparently also called “Christmas Classics”…

but I don’t see a playlist for it… and all he sings here is “Frosty.”

Personally, I’d rather listen to “The Little Drummer Boy” than sit through “Frosty the Snowman.”

I seem to be alone in that, but to me, the former has a medieval sort of sound that I enjoy, while the latter is all schmaltz.

Oops… Bing Crosby & David Bowie’s duet, below, does feature “The Little Drummer Boy”, though blended with another song…

Hah… they hid that fact on the video, just so you’d accidentally click it!

You might like it, though.

I also like LDB. Frosty & Rudolph have been played to death.

I love this recording. I saw this when it was first televised.

1977!

David Bowie’s “little boy”, who he says is 7, is 52 now.

He’s Duncan Bowie, these days… at this time I think he was still named Zowie Bowie… poor kid!

I love the recording too, even if Bowie does sing over Crosby.

But it was Bing’s TV special, so that was probably his choice… maybe an effort to attract younger fans.

He was about 73, here… looking pretty good for an old guy…. (cough) … and Bowie was 30.

I was thinking about this song recently. Half way to getting an ear worm started. 🙂
I think i’ll listen to it a couple of times. As an ear worm i’d say its kinda benign. 😀

For me, it doesn’t come across as an earworm.

Oooh…. the holiday season has officially begun again!

Time, once again, to snuggle up, kids of all ages….

Time for homemade soup, hot chocolate, and fresh popped kibblecorn…

And these enduring Christmas classics!

These films have been watched by generations of kids….

(never mind which of those generations included me)…

but they haven’t lost any of their magic.

…

And what a great Christmastime bargain…

Five (FIVE!) classic basset TV specials come to life on DVD…

in a bee-ooo-ti-ful box!

It’s printed to look like genuine faux leather, with loads and loads of glitter!

We all know glitter means Christmas!

…

Droololph’s nose is absolutely sparkling,
and the Little Drummer Puppy is a dashing young hound.

And Poopsie… the um … the um… well… you know… is kind of yellow.

How could the insipid human copydog edition that Stel posted possibly compare.

Those are all cartoons.. these are live-action basset movies!

The artwork on their box is too cutesy…. and there’s NO glitter at all!

….

I’m so glad I grew up watching the original basset versions!

I hope most of today’s human children, along with all the puppies, are still getting to do that too!

The laugh track was a little much, but i’ll always stop and watch when someone is making cotton candy.
It’s almost magical.

I was searching for your Humpday post on GoComics, getting worried. Then it came to me that you post it on C&C. Glad to hear from you, Plods.
