True, although you know only too well what I went through just to get an avatar. They had me on a never-ending obstacle course. At this point, I can live with the non-animated version. I don’t even know whether animated avatars are accepted. At some point, maybe I’ll try again…but, right now, it just feels good to finally get this far!

I still haven’t been able to log in or get an avatar cos of the hiccup over names… (I typed mix-up but autocorrect put in hiccup… for the first time, I like their word better!)
Everybody…. DON’T try two different names!
I won’t give up, cos I see that Stel finally got hers. Hopefully I will too.
Great to see you Jay and Perky and Saucy… and Old Phart… do we know you by a different name on GoComics?
I believe you have to go to wordpress.com to change your avatar and and profile? That’s what I did as I have an account from when alley Oop site was set up!
You can do it right from this page… I’m generally good at finding and following directions.
But I recently started posting as SusanSunshine here and on another WordPress blog, without saving my info or logging in. Then when I tried to sign up, they said my name was “already in use.”
I thought maybe I’d forgotten signing up long ago, so I clicked “forgot password”. They supposedly sent a message, but I didn’t get anything.
I figured there must be some OTHER Susan Sunshine on WordPress (it happens), at a different address…. so I tried to join as “I’m Susan Sunshine”, instead.
They turned that into “imsusansunshine”, so I don’t like it…. But said I couldn’t sign up because my E-MAIL address was “already in use”!
Now SusanSunshine and my email are automatically filled in on both blogs, for posting. But I get email for BOTH names at my address… and neither is allowed to sign up, and set a password, because they say, every time, that either the name or email address is already taken. (By ME, in sure!)
So I can’t log in, or get an avatar… and the posting options offered to me are more limited, ie, no formatting, no way to delete my own comments.
I’ll figure it out… It eventually worked for StelBel, but I may have to write to WordPress.
When I tried to change my password, the confirmation was in my spam file in my E-mail. They tell you to look there. I didn’t realize this for awhile and it was very frustrating because I didn’t think I was getting the e-mail. After I discovered that, I had no problem.
