This is the one that came to my mind immediately, except that it’s probably not the one you were thinking of because the cats are not in the window, but there ARE “…two cats in the yard” !!
Stel, Thank You, it WAS the one I was thinking of. I could remember the windows and such, just not the rest.
I’m in tears right now.
And, no, it is a GREAT song!
I don’t believe I suggested that the horses would be riding in the buggies. Those advertised buggies were meant to be pulled by horses, but, of course, you knew that.
So all supermarkets have to do is put the shelves in really narrow aisles, and voila! the human race gets skinny.
With a source somewhat more reliable than a site hawking computer wallpapers, I went looking for the blue snake again and came up with this article citing… … SVETLANA AKULOVA, GENERAL DIRECTOR OF THE MOSCOW ZOO. The video of the viper on the rose bush didn’t run for me, but now I know they do exist.
From yesterday.
The internet failed me !
! I’m stunned ! ! 😲
But seriously, I did think it was kind of weird, but when I Googled “food: citron”, that’s what came up first, I didn’t go any further.
On the bright side, I learned something (succade is any candied citrus species peel but especially that of the Citrus medica), so all is not lost.
Thanks for the information.
Now, GO BENGALS ! !
“Buddha’s Hand” is a variety of citron… apparently can be substituted if you’d like to spend an extra few dollars for no reason.
I had a small finger of it once… given to me by the produce manager at our big Chinese-owned supermarket that used to be my favorite store till it closed.
…
It broke off in shipping… still would have cost a dollar or so by weight, if anyone would buy it.
They’re given as gifts… supposed to look perfect.
Mr. Gong said to use the little piece in a chicken stir fry… but I didn’t much care for the flavor.
We’ve bought Buddha’s hands – for those who don’t know it imagine a cross between a lemon and an octopus. No juice, the whole thing is edible.
Does make a pretty good limoncello.
Has a very limited market time. Big Ag hasn’t figured out how to grow it outside of its natal lands (India) – so only available between Thanksgiving and New Year as a rule. Whole Foods charges an arm and a leg. A few years ago Meijer (mostly mid-west store) and Busch’s (definitely southeast Michigan) had it for about 2/3 the price. But none this year except at Whole Foods.
It’s suspected to be the great-great-etc-grandparent of all other citrus.

An autographed version.
I wonder if Annette learned from this signature and allowed herself more space in subsequent autographs….? hehehe
Like John Mulaney at the beginning of “The Comeback Kid”…
Vividly describing how to (not) make a
Birthday-sign…
I had to go to YouTube to look it up, but, yeah…..sort of just like that! lol
for those of you, like me, who weren’t familiar with that reference:
I had found that one, too in search of the real thing. It’s right at the beginning of the show.
Oh – and he’ll be hosting the next SNL.
…
…
Wow, those were YOUNG Rascals.
…just like us, way back when!
/.
The orange one looks like he has had a couple.
A cat in the window makes a house look like a home.
Happy³
There’s a song rolling around in my head from your “cat in the window”… I just can’t get to it (yet)… Where’s that ear-worm when you want it?
If this isn’t it, it still fits.
to baconboycamper….
This is the one that came to my mind immediately, except that it’s probably not the one you were thinking of because the cats are not in the window, but there ARE “…two cats in the yard” !!
Oh, well…it’s a good song, anyway!
Stel, Thank You, it WAS the one I was thinking of. I could remember the windows and such, just not the rest.
I’m in tears right now.
And, no, it is a GREAT song!
Yep! You’re right! It is GREAT!
I used to think it was Crosby, Stills, & Nosh. Something about getting the munchies after a concert.
Makes sense….!
LOL
So tempting…
.
Wow, can I get that on Amazon? I am ready with $59.75!
I’ll take two!
If you’re delivering to the West Coast now.
Yes…..but do the horses come with them???? I need to know.
You mean – riding in the carts?
That I’d really like to see!
I don’t believe I suggested that the horses would be riding in the buggies. Those advertised buggies were meant to be pulled by horses, but, of course, you knew that.
The attachment comes from HERE. Theres more to the link than the attachment (click to make the attachment legible).
There’s a scene in “Percy Jackson” which reminds of that song.
Thank you, Nighthawks, for posting “Hotel California”!!! One of the all-time greats!!
after intense internal pressure, I acquiesced
I know, only too well, the great sacrifices that you make….
Please!
Guys are having fun, Clara. Better grab that remote before Cleo asks “Underwear, Where are you?
Underwear beware!!!
Pointer Sisters made me think I was watching “Flashdance”…except it was a lot more sexy.
I am predicting Putin will invade on Sunday, just to ruin the Super Bowl for Americans.
Yeah right. We live close to that fork.
Yesterdays blue snake is seen here, briefly.

That’s what the wikipedia entry I’ve posted yesterday said.
But in the pudding mentioned succonade is used, not fresh citron.

Well, you wouldn’t expect a wolverine to pick the cats.

“Semper ubi sub ubi” —
ubiquitous “schoolboy Latin” pun …
“Always wear underwear.”
….
[actually translates to “Always where under where.”]
Hey ML! It’s that day of the month again!
Well, I know it’s not this month because Susan didn’t let us know. I will try to be patient. (key word is TRY!)
If you’re talking about what I think you’re talking about…
I don’t know… He’s never said.
….
There are websites that list the months in each year that contain the requisite day… and only certain years make sense for a starting point.
Pretty sure it’s not going to be before the mid 1950s, and probably closer to 1960… Maybe even the mid 60’s… Not the 70’s (sorry Rotifer).
That’s too many guesses, even though they’d be a a little more reasonable than just random.
Heehee, Claud & Clio.
Poor Clara. She is so put upon with these two.
