As a person from California, having seen what the recent rainstorms have been doing to coastal communities, let me just say….. It might be time to move.
I am going to take a wild stab at naming the show for which these were the regular players, even though I cannot name any of the individual characters or performers.
WILD STAB
Petticoat Junction. Here’s why. Man on far right in RR engineer’s getup, man to his right dressed like a RR conductor. The costumes look right for the time frame (to the eyes of an old man who knows nothing about it). The dog.
Was not a fan of the show, can’t recall ever watching it, though the opening credits and theme song are a memory I cannot lose.
…. on “Petticoat Junction” (I was never a fan of the show).
The season-three cast in 1966. On table: Higgins the dog;
front row (L-R): Lori Saunders (Bobbie Jo), Bea Benaderet (Kate), Edgar Buchanan (Uncle Joe);
back row (L-R): Frank Cady (Sam Drucker), Gunilla Hutton (Billie Jo), Linda Kaye Henning (Betty Jo), Rufe Davis (Floyd Smoot), Smiley Burnette (Charley Pratt)
Cute kid. She reminds me a little of Alice, the little girl at the center of the Cul De Sac comic strip. Alice works through a series of strips wherein she is trying to teach herself to wink. She succeeds about as well as this kid.
not sure why good old WordPress posted that twice–didn’t know they did that until this morning….I’ll just leave it, because to change it will delete any comments
I’ve always liked the theme song to this movie (whoever put the collage together didn’t know enough to leave well enough alone, but the song is the original)..
I’m not going to say it’s the first time we’ve done it, but the prior time was years ago, so I really enjoyed solving it again today.
Lotsa kitties, but still only nine differences!
Your Cleo and Company puzzles have totally escaped inflation…. yet they still give you full value.
No shrink-flation either…. why, pixel for pixel, they’re still the same size they were in 2021! (Before that they were on Sherpa, so they might even have been smaller.)
I gotta leave for a bit… I’ll be back, but before I go…
Fond as I am of La Bamba, I can’t let it pass unsaid that this clip is not original, and not Richie Valens.
It’s Lou Diamond Phillips, playing Richie in a biopic, which I think was called La Bamba as well. I hate when they don’t make it clear on videos.
I hear he did a good job, but he didn’t do his own singing… I believe the fellow playing the bass in the film actually provided the vocals.
I posted the real Richie Valens on Feb 3rd…. the sad anniversary of the plane crash that killed him, at only 17 years old, along with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper, in 1959.
It’s not the best quality video, but afaik is the only one there is of him playing live.
.
I’m thinking either a Russian Matryoshka Doll or The Nutcracker…
The doll. She has the shape and the expression.
..

…
I’m guessing that it’s cold.
Or those fishy smelling Asian shoes…
He didn’t want to wear his bunny slippers to work.
A matched set! Like the lions in front of the NYPL!
Cling-on cats.
hey! that reminds me of something

That’s what I was referring to.
Just like seen on TinyKittens HQ during kitten season.
If i had a bucket list that would be on it.
A bucket of rabbits?
I understand there are bucket loads of them about!
There’s big bucks in that lot of ram!
And now we know the Japanese name for Australia.
….
I don’t recognize a single one of ’em!
I think
Which I’ve never seen.
And I’m pretty sure the blonde lady in front
Bea Benaderet, who was in lots of old TV shows, including Burns and Allen.

…and there’s Uncle Joe, he’s a movie’ kinda slow in the junction-tion…..

I seem to remember them being on the same night and channel with Green Acres.
Shown back-to-back on our local station…
I believe one is a spin-off of the other.
And both spin-offs of the Beverly Hillbillies…
Musta been a bang up show if none of us remember it for sure!
…..
……
I’m a fan.
I think I can name half of them…
I have not seen every Kubrick film, though I have seen about a 1/2 dozen. They are always visually striking .
That was Kubrick.
Oh!
I don’t have time right this minute to look things up,
But I’m pretty sure…
I’ll check later.
Thats what i thought.

norma Jeane

Before she became a blonde…
Or a grown-up, or famous… But she was already married (for the first time, anyway.)
This is
doing her low-paid part for the war effort.
Are we supposed to find nine differences?
not sure why good old WordPress posted that twice–didn’t know they did that until this morning….I’ll just leave it, because to change it will delete any comments
You may try editing it?
yeah , that worked.
danke
De nada.
Real or Memorex?
Photoshopped?
Either way, I don’t want any tamales that come from there.
it’s ART.—it really doesn’t matter how it was created—just that it was
I agree that Photoshop and other manipulation can create legitimate art… though some show juries still don’t agree.
The main reason it makes a difference to me if it’s AI, though, is that AI takes over the thought and creation.
You choose a program and a style that it offers, and say “an old gas station and a rusty car”, and it produces the image.
I think you can give a few more details, but basically, you can do it with your arms tied behind your back.
This one, if not AI, is very confused. Why would a tamale stand have a Ford logo?
Seems more like somebody said “an old tamale stand in the desert with an American flag and a rusty 1960s Ford”, and some AI software got confused.
,
A lot of funny stereotypes in this one!
I remember watching this movie when i was home sick from school. It was on Dialing For Dollars out of the Bay Area.
I’ve always liked the theme song to this movie (whoever put the collage together didn’t know enough to leave well enough alone, but the song is the original)..
San Pedro California–1942

And her (movie-) husband’s reaction:
It’s an animated .gif – click on it.
I love Puddles Pity Party! (The singer)
He’s good!
That is an excellent rendition of a great song in a tears-of-a-clown style.
My Funny Valentine has been a trumpet classic since Miles Davis.
I’m up to seven!
Eight…
I love tonight’s puzzle!
I’m not going to say it’s the first time we’ve done it, but the prior time was years ago, so I really enjoyed solving it again today.

Anyway I suppose you’d like the solution.
Well… Okay.. be sure you’ve tried your hardest….
Missed an easy one. In other words, same old, same old.
I’m baaack!
Onward to my suggested (but optional, of course) round two for tonight’s puzzle..
After you’ve found all the differences…. Can you name all the cats?
Awhile back I labeled them on the picture.
When you’ve complled your own list, feel free to
It was pointed out to me that I forgot to label Lucifer (Cinderella’s stepmother’s cat), resting his chin on the right-hand arm
of the couch.
A bunch of cats not unherd of…
I’m awaiting boos and groans now.
boo!
groan!
Given the theme of the cartoon, I think this WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE about the real Jerry Mander is relevant.

Here it is again….
Why the Betty Boop Cartoons were censored in 1934.
Interesting history.
I read once that Bimbo was always cast as Betty Boop’s boyfriend even when she was drawn as fully human later on.
For a while.
The same sweep of imposed morality that lengthened her dresses, in 1934, also decreed that Bimbo, and their ambiguous relationship, had to go.
She got a small dog, unmistakeably just a pet, after that.
They may have been hoping to see whales, but one of them saw one a little closer than he probably wanted.
Got it ! !
wow!…it WAS eventful!
