Hi Susan. Your name and many others came up at Ballard Street today. I returned to GoComics just before Xmas after a 6 year absence. I miss a lot of the old faces including Beviek and StelBel. Many of course have passed on such as Affi and Fan o Lio. Maybe you and Nighthawks could pop in to the old tiki bar and say “hi!”
Depression, abuse, hopelessness, can also drive you down into a corner (and I don’t speak from experience, but have known some COPD sufferers). Not fun!
Okay…. My search says she’s in the Pyrenees, in France, stepping out of her 1956 or 58 (conflicting result) Renault 4CV while trying to get through a snowy mountain pass.
My question would be… why the deuce would she be up on a treacherous pass, all alone in a tiny car, in freezing weather… and dressed like she’s just going out to lunch downtown?
It doesn’t seem terribly wise.
Then again, we tend to forget about the fact that someone took the picture.
Maybe she’s not alone, or even the driver.
And at least one of them, hopefully both, presumably made it back to civilization, and developed the picture. Yes, there are other possible outcomes but let’s think positively.
Though I have seen that clip previously, I have never watched the movie itself. Inasmuch as it was based on the true story of a fishing boat out of Gloucester, MA and I am a MA resident …
No sign of the boat or any of the crew was ever found.
I left two videos on the end of yesterday One is about an artist putting poisoned images out on the internet to mess wit AI art. The other one explains how it works, and how the technique is being used for inserting malware into algorithms.
Replaced switches and outlets many times (successfully, so far). Turn off the power, but be sure you check with the back of your hand just in case. Shocked fingers will clutch toward the palm (power), so they will pull away from the power if you touch with the back of your hand..
Susan, sweet lady, there’s somebody called Solstice*1947 who is on Ballard Street and asking about the rules for dogs’ names and other interesting trivia. Since he composes some fun limericks, would you mind just looking in on him and helping him out? Maybe we can lure him over to C&C. He may bring No.6, who also responds to his limericks.
.
What a brave kitty!
Give ’em another boop on the snoot!
Easy to be brave when you think the giant dog-monster is trapped between the cushions.
Might be a different story when it jumps up on the couch…
I don’t think the pup looks revengeful, or even the least bit bothered…
But the kitten might just change his tune anyway.

Oh, hello Six.
Gosh… It’s been a while….
And a while since I’ve been on Ballard Street
I’ll try to do that soon.
There are a lot of faces I miss too.
Bienvenue a C & C.
Looks like a fun game for both. Notice that the kitten pulls in its claws when it reaches out to touch the dog’s nose.
TAG. You’re IT!
.
COPD’s a bitch! Gotta rest on every landing! (I speak from experience…)
Depression, abuse, hopelessness, can also drive you down into a corner (and I don’t speak from experience, but have known some COPD sufferers). Not fun!
Knee problems.
Them too!
Russian Orthodox space lasers?
..
Join the Space Force and see the world!
Nice Italian footwear.
Sicily (thanks for catching that Tigressy) is in trouble if that foot ever connects!
That’s Sicily…
,
Is that a candle on your head or are you glad to see me?
The ghost of Xmas past?
Nice to see some familiar faces here.
:o)
Nice too see you here. Be a regular!
A fellow known as Number 6
Came here for a C&C fix
He’s been here a day
But he’s welcome to stay
(the last line is left for you to finish 😉
New York dreams, a few of them realized, a few of them dashed.

Colorado? Wyoming?
Not a license plate from any US state.

He’s having a lot more fun than she is.
I think I’m getting seasick just watching this.
Well, that ends kinda ambiguously.
I usually assume the stars make it to the end of the picture, to justify their salaries.
Did they kill off George Clooney?
….
As for getting seasick…. the Popeye clip did that more.
Though I have seen that clip previously, I have never watched the movie itself. Inasmuch as it was based on the true story of a fishing boat out of Gloucester, MA and I am a MA resident …

😥
.,.
Yes.
,,.
The Hoppers are really hopping tonight!
He better have a good reason.
My response exactly! No lady deserves to be abandoned on a first date!
maybe that’s his reflection in the mirror
I thought we were supposed to realize he was walking towards her in the mirror, and she hadn’t seen him yet.
Like perhaps they had a fight, but he’s coming back?
Maybe he’s just late, but there are two wineglasses on the table.
His might just be part of the table setting. I was thinking he’d already been drinking wine with her but maybe not.
….
Yes, I do read too much into things. My mother started telling me that long before I even knew what it meant. 😁
Maybe he’s coming back from the restroom.
Well, I wondered about that possibility, too, but she looks a bit upset, so.i thought maybe more was going on.
And his glass looks like it’s never been used…
Aldo Balding, 1960
Liverlips balding right now.
Books were very rare, and valuable…. usually done in monasteries, with great devotion, or sometimes for rich patrons.
I can just picture some poor medieval scribe trying to explain.
I hope he didn’t get in too much trouble… or the kitty!
I hear, when well seasoned, they taste quite a bit like rabbit (not that I’ve ever tried, mind you).
The scribe? The kitty? Both?
Too close to home
Not funny at all.
And so the catechism was invented…
..
“Concord Street?” where everything else looks Middle European?
I just had to search it….
It’s full of anachronisms because it’s AI…
Part of an imaginary city, called Utropiia.
Not my sort of thing, but for those interested, theres a website about it…
https://www.utropiia.com/quick-tour
yep. that’s where I nabbed it
So you knew it would make me crazy.
Sheesh.
…
… wait….
…
Upon reflection… I can see that that ship had already sailed.
Everything about this looks wrong.
.,…
Is it the one with the wind-up key sticking out of it?
Not tonight.
Who has a toy strawberry?
Looks like it might be…
(Better get it outta there before it erases all the other strawberries.)
Thanks, but that’s funny, considering my terrible eyesight.
Maybe my vision is so “sharp” cos I have to take off my glasses and put the tablet close to my face to see details.
So “Find the little red blob that looks like nothing?”
Ah…. but you see …. that means it doesn’t look like a strawberry.
And it does have the little dimples where the seeds would go, if it had them.
Whoever it is, i love what they did with the light in her eyes.
You can see the windows 😁.
Did you think to check the fuses?
Claude refused to.
I left two videos on the end of yesterday One is about an artist putting poisoned images out on the internet to mess wit AI art. The other one explains how it works, and how the technique is being used for inserting malware into algorithms.
Thanks. I’ll watch when I have more time.
Amazing work.
Yes, it’s very easy to replace a wall switch.
What’s apparently hard, and not just for Claude, is remembering to make sure the power is off.
Doesn’t hurt to still wear thick rubber soles and lose the cocky attitude, even if you’re “sure” you’re safe.
I knew the widow of someone who didn’t.

good to know
…and put every fuse you can find into your pocket.
Or make sure nobody!!! else can reach the breakers until you’re done.
I don’t really think I want to try that.🫣

Cool!
Thanks Arfside….
I looked at it briefly, today’s and yesterday’s, and didn’t see the conversation in question.
I didn’t have time to post… Hopefully I will in a bit.
‘Shocked’ to see me?
Welcome! Don’t be a stranger!
