In no particular order, 8 Simon and Garfunkel songs I like almost as well as’The Sound of Silence.’ – Richard Cory – I Am a Rock – At the Zoo – The Boxer – 59th St. Bridge Song – Kathy’s Song – A Most Peculiar Man – Baby Driver
It looks to me as if Inspector Basset has, once again, cornered his suspect. He appears to have matters well in hand. Pip, pip, cheerio, carry on then!
yes, thanks for posting that…have never seen it before…..
I was wondering how Mickey was going to get out of that one!…
So well done from start to finish….as Susan said, they managed
to throw some effective scares at you ,even it it was a cartoon.
a fine job animating and meshing with the sound so well.
can’t say enough good things about that one!
The opening four sections and a link to the full article about morning stars.
The Morning Star is a club-like weapon consisting of a shaft with an attached ball adorned with spikes. This medieval weapon combines blunt-force and puncture attacks.
The Morning Star dates back to the 14th century and its use was particularly widespread in Germany (where it was called Morgenstern). They are frequently confused with the Morning Star Flail, a wooden shaft joined by a chain to one or more iron-shod bars.
This weapon resembles a mace but has several spikes around the particle of the head. It was most frequently used by infantry and cavalry – the horseman’s version having a shorter shaft.
Morning stars could be very long. In Vienna, sixteenth century examples measure 1.35 meters (7 ft 9 in) with a 54 centimetre wide top spike.
Were the long Vienna morningstars 4.4′ (1.35m) or 7’9″ (2.35m)? There is an error in the article’s conversion.

This must have been prior to Cleo’s discovery and acquisition of bazookas, STS missile technology, and the like. Shame. She would have had it open in a jiffy. The contents might have been unidentifiable, but the package would be open.

Olive and Mabel are always welcome. They are such stereotypical pet dogs.
I once bought a computer mouse in a thick blister pack… not only impenetrable, but not much longer or wider than the contents, and the mouse itself was, as mouses tend to be, low and rounded, and impossible to grip.
I considered a hacksaw, but I couldn’t hold on to the package that steadily, and didn’t want to harm it, by getting too close with sharp implements.
I needn’t have worried, cos nothing would pierce that packaging anyway.
….
I finally found my heavy old tin snips, and cut closely alongside one edge seam, and managed to twist and pull the mouse out….
but I cut my hand on the sharp edge I had made.
…
I called the company and complained…
and instead of an apology or a coupon or a refund… not even a question about whether my hand was OK or I’d had medical bills (It was, and no) the rep on the phone said the packaging was necessary for “security reasons.”
She suggested I buy a special tool, which I didn’t know existed… it’s like a can opener but cuts through plastic.
…
I swore to never buy that brand again… and I don’t think I ever have…
but I can’t actually remember what it was….
All I ever see any more is Logitech or Microsoft, and I don’t think it was either of those.
I do know I’m not spending 20 bucks or so on a bulky tool to open something every couple of years.
If you’ve ever made/had a pear, peach, apple, blueberry, strawberry….etc. etc… pie, you’ve had roasted fruit.
You, I, and all the other normal people would usually have roasted fruit for dessert, but if you pretend you’re a vegan today — there’s your dinner (lunch if you’re in Saskatchewan).
It doesn’t say anything about roasting or having a roast on that calendar…
But it does say Kahlúa.
….
If you drink enough Kahlúa, you won’t mind having nothing but a big bowl of strawberries for dinner….
Especially if you have anosmia, cos then you probably won’t care what you’re eating… It all tastes pretty much the same.
…
But I hope you don’t, cos strawberries and Kahlúa are delicious. Serve them in a pretty, pale green, 1930’s depression glass bowl and matching glassware (for Retro Day)…
But PLEASE…in spite of Plods’ advice (sorry, Plods)…. DON’T get so drunk you try to hug a polar bear.
Just a bit of wondering about who, if anybody, is doing any thinking within Alberta’s ruling party, The United Conservative Party.
Starting on Tuesday, with three exceptions, all masking requirements and capacity limits will be officially lifted.
The three exceptions are hospitals (YES!), long term care homes (YES!), and public transit (WHAT ‽ ‽).
Sitting at a seat at any full pub/restaurant table, or in a seat in Rogers Place arena in Edmonton (capacity 18,500 for hockey) or one in the Scotiabank Saddledome arena in Calgary (capacity 19,829 for hockey) will seat people as close together for a longer period of time as the seating on any bus or light rail transit train in either city; but those venues are safe not to wear a mask in, whereas a transit vehicle, where your ride is not going to vary much, up or down, from an hour is unsafe. As I said; who’s doing the thinking?
I know air volume versus time will occur to you, but remember the bus and train doors are opening often and changing the air within the vehicles at least as fast as the air systems in any pub/restaurant or arena, and the “safe” distance will used-to-have-been six feet (yes feet / we’re Canadian, we don’t have to make sense when it comes to how we do measurements) on Tuesday.
The hospital workers and long term care workers need to ride the public transport to the hospitals and long term care facilities. They may be sitting next to the fans coming from the games.

The full cartoon.
Are we going to be ? ? treated ? ? to Mickey Mouse’s butt now? 😁
Thanks, Alexi
Terrifying!
Even though I know it’s a cartoon.
I agree! Absolutely terrifying!!! So much of the Disney stuff was! I still can’t watch Bambi !

I like the mace by the open [?] door. Looks like it weighs more than Mickey.

I love those dogs.
Me, too!
I love them too.
Glad to see this one, cos it’s been a while.
…
I subscribe to their YouTube channel but since I don’t allow notifications, I have to remember to check my channels for new videos.
You can all probably guess how well that works.
…
Besides that, I had/have a more personal notification system for new Olive and Mabel videos, but it has apparently broken down as well.
Sigh….
Yo should never buy Acme.
Unless you are buying boots.
We can see where Cleo gets her motivation. Or, could it be Nighthawks, projecting?
I feel you, Claude.

It would most probably have come in a similar packaging anyway.

So, are we to have Roasted Strawberries for dinner tonight?
um…sure?
Well, I usually wait until I see your post of the ‘National Day….’ to figure out what to plan for dinner………..
Ah. When it’s like this one we call FEND NIGHT….
Everyone gets to make their own

I love my meat too much. Dinner at most.
Fruit and veggie have been a staple in my weight loss of 20 pounds last year.
Roast them in a pastry shell!
great plan!

Okay, I’ll stand correceted.
It was me that wasn’t thinking. ☹ ☹
The politicians are still way behind on thinking, but at least they’re now trying to catch up.
