I just poured myself a shot.
Hey, it’s close to 5 pm here already – and after having accidentally tossed down a bottle carrier – upside-down, of course – from a height of over two feet. On a porcelain-tiled floor.
Fortunately, only the small, empty bottle on top broke plus some others leaked. Mopped up the mess after picking up the shards and gave the area a good wipe with baking soda (against any smell).
Cheers!
You’re right ! Google is amazing.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the hill is on here, but note that the names and route number agree with both your and nighthawks’ postings.
Now if only Portugal could find a way to teach the rest of the world how to keep that relaxed in traffic
Maybe not the same hill as NIghthawk’s, but still enough of a grade for steel-on-steel adhesion at the 3:35 mark.
One other thing I noticed is the distinct lack of cell-phone zombies — and considering how close the tram comes to the pedestrian walkways…
What an ENDING to this saga! Sam Basset, you are one gracious detective! Not only did you allow Miss Behave to pay for her defense, but you’re bringing in Sgt. Preston to work on the next case with you. Nice!
About Miss Behave getting out of the dog pound – Oh yes.
She was happily married to an other – loving – pure-bred.
At least one of their descendants ended up in Cleveland.
Turns out that dog has a lot in common with her infamous ancestress.
I agree with you. I want to see the statue. She said it was there, but is it really?? How can they arrest her when they don’t have the statue?? We need ‘the rest of the story’.
dunno if you’re speaking to me or Susan–but if it’s me, new stuff has been slowed to
a trickle lately—I am working on a new Batbasset story , but it takes time and I’ll have
to post reruns for awhile longer. thanks for being a fan, Dennis
Kasey and Oggie
A boxer and a .. a… bassemation?
Old English Bulldog
Doesn’t look that old….snerks
Oops.
And I even think I already knew that.
Sorry Oggie, I was very sleepy.
….
Not that there’s anything wrong with being a boxer…
before YOU guys all start writing to me.
Do they like each other?
sometimes yes
sometimes no
So they’re like most families, then.
,
This illustrates the ongoing conflict between crop farmers and solar farmers.
I’ve seen plenty of calculators with number pads… but this is the first time I’ve seen a number paddy.
But when you think about it, it all adds up.
Should be potatos, not rice. You can make chips from potatos.
.
I was wondering where this could be, with San Francisco-like trams (in SF they’re cable cars but this one runs off overhead wires).
Searching the image turned up nothing… but I found the place name.
I think this is a tram in Batalha, Portugal…
cos this is another one…
Hey, they’re both #22.
…
Google will never cease to amaze me.
Mmmmmm – Jameson

Nonetheless, even without phones, pedestrians and cars are paying little attention to the oncoming tram.
Hard to say when this was filmed…
2006 might look recent in a video.
That was before either iPhone or Android were invented, and it took a few more years for them to become ubiquitous.
Additive as they were for some, I didn’t see so many zombies on flip phones or Blackberries.
,,
WOW!!
They’re related to triffids ! RUN ! ! !
What an ENDING to this saga! Sam Basset, you are one gracious detective! Not only did you allow Miss Behave to pay for her defense, but you’re bringing in Sgt. Preston to work on the next case with you. Nice!
A standing ovation is in order for this Sam Basset mystery! Thanks, Nighthawks!!
It’s here!
Sam Basset is back for the conclusion!
I knew it wouldn’t be Saturday, cos of the puzzle…
and I didn’t think Nighthawks would run it on a Sunday, which is generally (but not always) kind of a “slow news” day…
So it arrived at the first real opportunity.
Luckily, we didn’t have to wait for Friday! Thanks, Nighthawks.
…
But… um…. Say what?
Miss Behave is the villain…. as we kind of suspected…
But…but…. she really HAS the statue?
It It priceless? Is it NOT priceless?
Sam says she claimed it was worth a million bucks… meaning it isn’t?
We saw it, sparkling and glittering… but fool’s gold is shiny, too… and rhinestones can sparkle.
…
Whatever it’s worth… he says she’ll need it for lawyers…
but lawyers don’t cost a fortune….
Well, yeah, they do… but there should be something left.
Unless it’s all a scam.
If there IS money… who gets it?
Or did Mr. Ious die for an insurance scam?
…
And whoa!… in walks DICK TRACY??!
Am I reading the wrong cartoon?
How did HE sneak in here?
Is there a hole in one of the panels?
…
Oh my…. All wrapped up, and tied with a bow… but with so many questions left!
Where IS that precious… or at least maybe semi-precious… statuette?
And that curse… is there really no curse on it?
Was that a lie, too?
Mr. Ious might disagree!
…
Is it right there in Miss Behave’s apartment, or did she hide it?
Do you think Sam can find it? Or will she spill the beans, hoping to get lawyer money…. unless she knows it’s a hoax.
Could he sell it for enough so he can get out of the flying bullets game?
…
And… I really wonder…
Miss Behave is being sent to the dog pound?
Oh no… she’s so pretty… she wouldn‘t stay long at a dog pound!
OMG… Will some nice family end up adopting a….. very beautiful… but VERY baaad doggie?
I’m sad to see this arc come to an end…
it’s been great.
But… dum de dum dum… it it really over?

there ARE holes in these panels…just as many holes as there were in this story
“Six-two and even, over and out.”
I agree with you. I want to see the statue. She said it was there, but is it really?? How can they arrest her when they don’t have the statue?? We need ‘the rest of the story’.
Yeah!
Nighthawks, I hope you heard that!
After this, you are entitled to rest on your laurels for the night. But you continue to provide new content!

You, of course, Nighthawks..
I’m pretty sure nobody would consider my efforts actual “content”….
or for that matter, allot me any laurels upon which to rest.
fettuccine alfredo
I posted my own Alfredo sauce recipe back here on JANUARY 4.
Charlie don’t surf,
Baby don’t get put in a corner, and
Witchy Women don’t grocery shop.
LOL…Charlie does a lot. but he never surfs..
..one thing for sure: never give a sapper an even break
I love how color stands out in noir…. PURPLIES!
Good Monday morning, Cleo phans. Another week of our fav toon.
And while you’re at it… send a card to a friend.
(((((HuGz!)))))
I’ll prepare fettuccine tonight – but with turkey liver in a hot and spicy tomato-sauce.
coincidence or inspiration?
The former. – But I think I’ll use up some farfalle.
Never saw that fun video before, thanks.
.
