I remember the Jack Benny/Mel Blanc routine being done by Bill Dana, using the Jose Jimenez character he created. Small details were different between Bill Dana’s bit and Mel Blanc’s.
Excepting in sauces (where it is mellowed by other flavours) I have never liked tomato juice as a juice.
I have never bought a bottle or vodka drink in my life.

Quoting from the author’s lead-in to the recipe.
“ As to who first concocted the Bloody Mary, well, many different people have taken credit, but it is usually credited to a bartender at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris during the 1920s. His name was Fernand Petiot“.
2 1/2 ounces vodka
5 ounces tomato juice
1/2 ounce lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon celery seed
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 dash Tabasco sauce
1 celery rib (commonly called a stick)
1 lime wedge
In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the vodka,
tomato juice, lemon juice, pepper, salt, celery seed,
Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco. Shake well. Strain into a
highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Garnish with
the celery and the lime wedge.
Notes from me:
A liquid dash is defined as 1/8 teaspoon.
A celery rib is commonly called a stick.
A highball glass is basically any straight sided glass. The volume will, of course, vary.

I rarely drink… but that looks good.
never tasted one, but i enjoy my nightly glass of wine.
