Oh, I see, the trick is to play both of these at once. Nice!

I would say that I’ve never heard of King Harvest, the group YouTube identifies as playing this song… yet I definitely remember liking it, so I guess I must have known of them.

Ah, the little things that fall through the holes, as years go by.

Meanwhile… in the gif… it’s a little blurry, so even if I enlarge it, I can’t tell what’s between the dancers’ heads… it looks different every time I try.

Either something is suspended there, or he has a giant nose, or her arm is raised between them…. or I’m looking at it totally wrong.

Help?

I found a version that’s a little more clear.
It’s her hat brim.

Thank you for posting this, I’d only heard Dancing in the Moonlight from them before.

This has always been one of my all-time favorite songs, so I had heard of King Harvest. It’s the only song of theirs I know. The opening keyboard hooks me.

This is a good series.
I’ve taken longer than the episode time to watch because I keep going to look for more on a number of the cartoonists mentioned.
In this one, there is a British cartoonist, Donald McGill, whose mention begins at just after 10:45 whose post card artwork would likely have been “banned in Boston” (funny how the pendulum swung from rambunctious tea-parties to blue-nose, that). They’re funny ! !
Please, keep these coming.     😁

Funny that you said that…

Cos speaking of bananas…

I was wondering whether a certain Monkey Blues, or even some other monkey….. they’re a crafty species…

had made a deal on a merchandise tie-in with the series, and whether Stel knew.

Shameless indeed!

They are not inexpensive treats (they have cat treats too).      shameless pets     The attachment is the definition, from the site, of what “upcycled” means.

I really should digitize a negative I took decades ago at the local zoo (Hellabrunn; Munich) – a polar bear, jumping off a ledge but still (barely) in contact. Horizontal.

I was having a lot of trouble, earlier… either with this site or my internet…

I should be in bed now… but first….

wanted to say…  Wow… “Bone-anza!”

With three kids, two adults and one TV…. Bone-anza was one of the only programs my whole family agreed on.

Every Sunday night, in front of the huge 14″ black and white TV, we all paid our respects.

My sister claimed Little Joey, aka Mikey Landhound, as HER dog…

But I didn’t care cos I wanted to put my leash on Pawnell Robarks… to me, the smart, more grown-up, pick of the litter.

More grown up than I knew…. We later found out all of the “brothers” were years older than we thought…

and except for Little Joey, they all wore toupees, being, in real life, far too old to be growly-voiced, also wig-wearing, Lorrrrne Grrreene’s puppies….

even though in their roles on the show, they all acted like obedient teenagers.

Speaking of his grrrowly voice…

Who the heck told Lorrrne Grrreene he could sing?

Did somebody forget to yell “April Fool!”?

Maybe that’s why they only used instrumental versions on the show…

Nobody wanted be the one to tell him they were going to use someone else’s vocals.

Though it was made pretty obvious in the various plots, I don’t remember knowing till later that each pup had a different mother…

That Pa really got around.

It couldn’t have been his singing that attracted the ladydogs.

Nonetheless, we loved the show…

Accepting its premise … three grown men living with Pa, obeying his orders… and always ready to solve problems on the range.

We were all ready to believe it.

Part of the problem, earlier, was that I couldn’t get about half the pictures to load, or any videos to play…

but more important… when I finally could see the poster, and tried to comment, I would only get this:

Has anybody else ever seen that message?

I’ve gotten it a couple of times in the past but only temporarily.

I have never seen that.
Two successive “Search Google for image” searches brought up the responses in the attachment.

I have a rather clear head-picture of the cast appearing on one of the variety shows. They were astride saw-horses and singing:

“We got a right to pick a little fight
BONANZA!
If anyone fights with anyone of us, they gotta fight with me.”

I really, really hope this link to this      Macleans Magazine, September 15.1952     article works for the fans of Lorne Greene.
Google does list it as “Not secure,” but I had no problems (it’s Macleans’ archive, and I suspect Google wanted the magazine’s hair parted the other way).
Substitute “VOICE OF DOOM” for WILLIAM WALLACE at the opening.
WILLIAM WALLACE is a misprint there, Lorne Greene, and only Lorne Greene was the “VOICE OF DOOM”.

The other Adam(a).
“Battlestar Galactica”, anyone?
Watching “Conquest of the Earth” right now. – I think “StarTrek IV” was inspired by some parts of it.

Well, I guess I HAD to give it a like, cos there’s no way to give it a loud scream… or even three thumbs down.

And I stopped the vid, but it came back on all by itself! Scary!

Lorne Greene is just as bad a singer as Lorrne Grrreene…

Maybe that’s why the humans picked him.

Oh – and their “Chinese” cook was impersonated by a – Korean.
No need to worry about the smell of cow pats – they’ve got kimchi!
Just kiddin’; we love kimchi.
