The picture shows the aftermath of the December, 1915 fire that destroyed the original E. H. Gato cigar factory in Key West, Florida.
Since nighthawks’ posting is of the aftermath of the 1899 blizzard any cigars in the store would have come from that factory.
The second factory, which was built on the same site, is now an historic site in Key West, housing a cigar museum, and, ironically, an office of the “Florida Department of Health.”
The picture is a link to a history of E.H. Gato cigars.
I did some research:
The only place I could find near MontanaLady that even lists pastrami (a Yiddish word) on its menu I’d stay clear of. Pastrami is not made from turkey.
I could find no supermarket that lists pastrami either.
There’s an upscale? (question mark mine) place I’d really steer clear of just on general principals as well. Not only does it not list pastrami, its website gives the impression that it wants its patrons to be the kind of people who think they’re impressing other people by paying $1,000.00 for a $25.00 (if that) bottle of sparkling wine.
What’s the catch – the pastrami or the right bread?
Making the former is time-consuming (I don’t assume you have to worry about getting high quality beef and the right cut), but not rocket-science (pun intended).

He did have sense of humour !
Some of it was very sly, too; note that the signs go blank as Misto crosses the centreline of the street. —
The song, Say You Say Me (sung by Lionel Richie) was a #1 hit for him and I’d be surprised if you’ve never heard it. (You may not like it, but you must have heard it! LOL)
It was in the movie, White Nights, starring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines…a suspense thriller showcasing the two dancers from 1985. ( White Nights (1985) – IMDb ).

This is how pastrami is made (commercially, anyway).
Does it ever sound good. I’ll have to look around here for some.
The closest one is an hour and a half away. No big deal.
I don’t need the extra calories that bad.

Lost too soon. Just like Jimmy.
I agree.
BTW, I’ve always liked Luna’s version of “Voodoo Child” and toyed with posting it here earlier! Glad you did!
She has a new version.
Luna Lee,
Happy, you are not referring to Luna in your comment, are you? I find no evidence of her demise.
No. Jimmy and Stevie.
Fans of her for years now.
Look. She should not be playing with that indoors.
Anything with a flame needs to be played with out in the yard.
Sheesh! Pets!
…..gotta watch ’em like a hawk!
like this?
Exactly!
I’ll be happy to watch that one all day.
BUNNY!

Love it!

I wonder if he did that so that the character wouldn’t be lost in the confusion
of the marque’s lettering in the background
I can’t say you’re wrong; but as further evidence of his sly humour I offer the bricks and the insects.
Don’t remember “White Nights” and I think I will take a pass.

Just tryin’ to jog your memory…..! hehehe
OK, back to bed.
You want two good reasons Claude? Cleo just said ‘Here, Kitty, Kitty’. that’s TWO kitties!
Cleo’s answer works for me.
OK. Not really.
The good reasons to THINK she’s out of control are legion…
But if you ask, instead, “Give me two reasons Cleo is out of control” … ie, the reasons for her behavior, rather than examples of it…
You just might have to say that two of the reasons are sitting right there on the couch:
Her long-suffering, kind, but totally enabling “dog-parents” … who sit on the couch while their beloved pet goes cat-hunting with a flame thrower.
…
Cleo couldn’t have been a luckier pooch.
If you call being allowed to hunt cats with a flame-thrower “lucky.”
,,
That’s funny! But the dog is lov’n it.
I guess the dog is ticklish behind the ears.
FROM YESTERDAY (because I’m me)
In the human universe there was a bit of enhancing done in the poster.
Gee, what did those Italians change?
OMG! It’s an Icefish orgy!
