Week beginning Saturday, October 19, 1957. I went looking for the “Uncle Sam” article, but couldn’t find it (it may be on the “TV Guide” site, but I did not set up an account).

Funny, in this shot, no doubt influenced by looking at the photo above, to me he looks a lot like Leonard Nimoy…. or maybe I just need more coffee.
I’m leaning toward the coffee theory.
The sight was still kinda weird this morning. (For me.)
