See, if you get yourself a ball python, and a tube of Crest toothpaste, and somehow convince them to mate…. and you’re lucky… in a couple of months you might get some of these… not this big yet, of course.

If they mate and you’re not lucky, instead of beautiful Crest-colored snakes, you mighr be breeding yucky gold and black toothpaste.

I couldn’t find any information about this one, no artist, not even where to buy it on a tote bag….. only links to it being used as profile pictures on a ton of Facebook and Instagram accounts, mostly Asian…. a few were in blue or grey color combinations instead of green.

I kinda think that means it’s AI, but I’m willing to be shown that it’s not .

A 1957 publicity photo

of…
Phyllis Kirk and Peter Lawford

who. ..
starred in “The Thin Man” TV series.
IMHO, a non-great idea.

This is BBC wildlife photographer Gordon Buchanan, working on a 2013 David Attenborough documentary, “The Polar Bear Family and Me.”

A small crew had been tracking and filming this 8 ft tall mother bear and her two cubs for 12 months.

The description didn’t say whether this was the first time, or it had happened before, only that the hungry mama had spotted his cage, and attacked.

The cage is made of strong steel and plexiglass, but the temperature was so low that day, they had some fear of its becoming brittle and snapping.

He said he was so frightened, knowing he might be eaten, you could hear his heart beating in the audio. Luckily, she gave up.

I’m betting the horse got painted – you wouldn’t get that close to a zebra!

Nope… I know you’re joking, but the reality is funny too.

This is ‘Eclyse’, taken in June 2007, at Safaripark, in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock, Germany.

The caption said he was a “zorse”, which what all such animals tend to be called.

But a site about “zebroids”, or zebra crosses, says a zorse is actually the offspring of a male zebra and a female horse, and identifies him as being a “hebra”, the opposite cross… son of a male horse (stallion) called Ulysses and a female zebra named Eclipse.

If the horse parent is a solid color, the offspring will generally be that color, though muted, with a pattern of dark stripes on all or part of its body.

But a piebald horse…. one with white and another color, passes on a gene for pure white patches, which means the zorse or hebra can only have stripes in its grey or brown patches, like Eclyse.

Zebroids only occur in captivity, and like mules and hinnies, almost all are sterile.

Well, maybe it’s because of who he is, but in my case, I didn’t recognize him because he doesn’t usually look like that.

For a moment I thought he was made up to be some sort of ape man.

Here we have….
Claude Rains, James Stewart, Director Frank Capra, Jean Arthur and Edward Arnold

during the filming of…

“Mr Smith Goes to Washington”, 1939

Actually, I thought it wasn’t a very recognizable photo of any of the three in the center…. and I never seem to recognize the fellow at the end.

Poor Claude… All his bright ideas get shot down.

Mind you, that’s the good ones along with the bad ones… he’s lost credit for a few brilliant thoughts and useful innovations, but at the same time, he’s been saved from a few dangerous stunts.

I don’t think Cleo can actually distinguish them .. she (rather unfairly) shoots them down sight unseen. A few leak out, so Clara keeps watch, to keep him from climbing tall ladders and starting fires.

It’s not that he never gets to have a good idea… Just that they have to be… you know… carefully screened. But I think Cleo takes it a bit too far.

Anyway, Claude’s so busy ruminating, he may not have noticed that his workspace changes a bit between these two panels.

Hopefully, you’ve found the nine differences that Claude can’t see.

and maybe they’ll be the same as what I see!

BTW, Nighthawks, nice job on the desk supplies and accoutrements… I can picture you sitting there on a rainy day, trying to drum up ideas for the next brilliant strip, while you sketch your Sharpies and tape dispenser.
