Okay folks, i have a new (to me) kitchen hack.
Have you ever made a cup of cocoa and discovered that you have no marshmallows or whipped cream? I did.
But, while standing in front of the open cupboard, waiting for some marshmallows to appear, i happened to notice my jar of marshmallow cream.

Well, it works. Pre melted marshmallow.

OK, how many of you keep marshmallow cream in your cupboard? 🙂
Sorry Happy, but I don’t know what else I would use it on. Maybe some of you will enlighten me (about the marshmallow cream. I’m not asking for miracles). 🙂

It’s also known as fluff. Mostly you use it for making fudge, but it’s also tasty in a peanut butter and fluff sandwich.
For me its a link to my youth. Comfort food. 🙂
Mom made great fudge. She always had some on hand so if we ran out of jelly she would send us to school with PB&Fluff sandwiches.

We called those fluffernutters. I’ve never been that much of a fan. But, I do tell Cookie she’s a fluffernutter because she’s fluffy and nutty.

I’ve never put whipped cream or marshmallows in cocoa.

Might have done as a child – can’t really remember. But I do remember that if there were marshmallows in the house, they would disappear so fast Mom couldn’t figure it out. There was no place she could hide them that I couldn’t find.

I love them too.
I even eat Peeps.

But in our house growing up, we weren’t allowed to take food without asking, and even after that, usually it was doled out by my mother.

Marshmallows had to be carefully counted out so all 3 kids got equal numbers.
Some lucky times we got wonderful individual little boxes of Campfire brand ones.

Now I have to be the grown-up and dole out the marshmallows to myself so I don’t overdo.

But I never buy fluff.

Methinks you and I are in the minority regarding Peeps. A week before Christmas I went into the local Dollar Tree for something, and saw a whole end cap display of Peeps left from EASTER. I left them there…I’ve spent too much on dental work the last few years.

My sister buys one tiny package but never opens them, much less eats them.

She thinks they’re funny and decorative, but not edible. I think maybe she’s in the majority.

I’m lucky… they don’t seem to bother my teeth.

But they’ve about tripled in price since they became hip or something… the 39¢ packs are $1 or more.

They have a funny website, though I haven’t looked at it in several years.

I only buy them now on sale after a holiday… but not months later. And not many cos they’re not exactly health food.

Gosh… No Rocky and Bullwinkle, no marshmallows in your hot chocolate.

A deprived childhood!

I never buy marshmallow cream.

But for hot chocolate, which I seldom drink, though I have a lot I should use up, I have a small jar of tiny dried marshmallows… the same kind that come in some packets of hot chocolate mix.

They’re fun… pretty sure they’re the same thing as the ones in cereals I’d never buy, like lucky charms. They expand to maybe a quarter inch on top of the chocolate.

I didn’t know till a couple of years ago you could buy them in a jar in the baking supplies aisle, and they weren’t very expensive.

Wow they’re only $1.58 at Walmart…. (I was just looking for a picture.)
It’s not huge like it looks here… The size of a large-ish spice jar.

When it comes to marshmallows to just eat to eat marshmallows my favorite was the ones covered in toasted coconut. I haven’t seen any in a while.

I don’t allow anything but coffee in my morning coffee!

It’s got one job.

I used to love those, but some years ago, I somehow started coughing or choking on the loose coconut dust. It doesn’t happen when I eat coconut in other ways.
