Yep, ’tis a kitten, as captured below (from a different book-cover)…
Amazingly enough, there is an actual Facebook site that caters to these altered book-covers: YourChildhoodRuined
This is actually true, though technically it is actually falling all the time, but the angular momentum is the crucial component that prevents gravity winning.
If I ever knew these characters existed, I had long since forgotten them (and with good reason as far as I’m concerned).
Read the advertisements; they’re the funnest (I know, I know but you get the idea / ain’t Engilsh amazing?) part of the comic.
I’ve seen cat trees, but…
Really??!
Are there farms where you can pick them yourself?
How do you tell when they’re ripe?
What a beautiful doggie.
I didn’t think those fungi were strong enough for anything heavier than a bird to sit on
Those are as hard and sturdy as wood.
That’s news to me too. I’ve seen a lot of shelf fungus while hiking but never had the urge to touch it.
There’s some I’ve touched, but it was soft and kind of spongy.
It was also smaller, unless that dog is way more tiny than s/he looks.
Either it hardens when it dries, or there are different types.
Sounds like Angel Wings — a distinctive edible mushroom. The big Bracket Fungi are quite solid and woody — not very good eating at all…

Oh poo!
I’m going to say this is the 1965 book cover (the parody appeals to my sense of homour).
Gotta love the logo (lower left corner):
YCR
Your Childhood Ruined
I can’t make out the picture in it.
Kitten maybe?
That’s what I see, too 🐱

You mean that scene in Fantasia isn’t true?
The Dancing Hippos were fake too…
Really? Dang it! That was my favorite part.
So they never got to use their Thagomizer on a Tyrannosaurus?
Gary Larson named it, and paleontology listened — that is now the proper anatomical name…
I know.
There’s more fun stuff out there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiwa_tyleri
Gonna be a lot less if they really outlaw honorifics. (No more Strigiphilus garylarsoni for one…)
That looks like an Allosaurus on the receiving end. The time period would be appropriate and the head is different than T-Rex’s.

But how does it stay up?
It goes fast so it doesn’t fall….

Or clothespins.
Them moonshiners will go to all sorts of tricks to avoid the revenooers. That there is a fancy looking still tucked away in the Space Shuttle.
Is that why the shuttle is smiling?
Sad 😥
☹️
I remember this one from a View Master reel!
Who’s taking the photo?
Guys in the lander.
The picture was taken from the Lunar Module
Here’s the movie “Earth vs. the Flying Saucers.”
One of my all-time favorites.
Ray Harryhausen did a bang-up job on Washington D.C.
Damn drones!
I think I saw a stack of those flying saucers at the dollar store, with the other straw hats.
don’t mess with Earth!

THE ANSWER FROM THE BRAINXFACTOR SITE
The message makes the maze easier!
I got the same.
Got it
I find with maze puzzles it’s always easier to start at the finish and work backwards.
For me too, usually… But I can’t say always, because this time, it’s not.
With a phrase to find, backwards would be much harder.
Well, the way I did it was to find the route first, by working back from the finish, then retrace the route forwards to get the phrase.
I’m not generally great at mazes, but having to follow the words makes it way easier.
You’re not going to follow impossible letter combinations.
Laika lives!
I’d love to think so!
poor Laika
On “Brewster Rockit”, she was rescued by aliens, learned to speak English and is alive and well.
Moondog? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moondog
That’s Hedley!
Oops, wrong movie.
lol
She looks very uncomfortable.
I’ve heard the moon is cold and rocky.
From today’s London “Daily Mail” (pudding rice is simply short-grain rice).
Also from today’s “Daily Mail” (prepare to groan).
Bcause it left its Windows open.
Boo! 🙂
It’s an old computer tutor joke…
You MUST remember to close ALL your windows when you shut down at night…
Otherwise your computer will freeze.
What a great clip from Annie Get Your Gun….
Betty Hutton and Howard Keel, in 1950.
Musical comedy legends, both of them.
Thanks for the ID.
