With her beak pointing up?

Not meaning that’s wrong… just that I don’t know how it works.

I think Happy³ is right.
A 54 second video of a bald eagle oiling its feathers.
Watch closely from the 45 second mark; there’s a split second where its beak appears to be upside down.
I’m not sure this will work as a posted video. If it doesn’t for you, my Google search term was:

how do bald eagles oil their feathers

The video is the TikTok one that should appear about halfway down the search page.

@saintsinneridiot

Bald Eagles have uropygial gland (preening gland) that produces an oily, waxy substance that helps waterproof feathers and keep them flexabile. It’s located near the base of their tail. This eagle is spreading the oil and cleaning/ protecting its feathers. #baldeagle #bird #preening #virginia #dykemarshwildlifepreserve

Clicking on the circular arrow restarts the video on my machine so it should for others’ as well.

All of my small birds have done that. As a rule, most birds necks are quite flexible.

Might be nice if he said how many men, wanted for what, which train, what location….

Maybe he even knows their names and could give brief descriptions.

Silly details, I know….

But possibly helpful, unless guessing is part of the fun.

Having flown small planes, I’d like to know how he could determine that they were wanted men. Assuming, since they are “against crime”, that they are obeying FAA regulations and remaining at least 1000′ away from human structures and vehicles.

“Men against crime” Kind of broad-brush, non-specific, isn’t it? Are they “against” just on general principles? Which men? Do they have something in common? Do they have any super powers?

Nobody said girdles were new….

There are examples of them hundreds of years older than this comic…

In fact there were linen girdles in ancient Egypt, and a couple of millennia of corsets in Europe.

Spanx are whole garments made of light, stretchy fabric, supposedly meant to eliminate wearing stiff girdles.

There’s no comma in the text so, following the rules of grammar, it’s the train

Reminds me of the Uncle Remus story “De Moon In De Millpond” with the flipsy flopsy figaloo fishes (as I recall) and the pot of gold that Brer Rabbit and Brer Terrapin had Brer Fox and Brer trying to catch with a net. Got this in a book book in 1955 as a Christmas present. My kids loved “De Wuller-De Wust” among others, as well, when I read the stories to them.

If you’re using this to play the adult celebrity guessing game….

Don’t look till you’ve guessed.

But it’s….
Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.

Perhaps a “Grease” reunion?

Took me a minute…

Frozen?

Aaagh!

Hope it doesn’t happen in the middle of cooking.

Then again, why would you be cooking your pasta carbonara outdoors in that weather?

It’s things they do at the Antarctic Research Base to demonstrate actually how cold it is. When the wind is blowing (i.e. 99% of the time) they will take a damp T-Shirt outside and use it like a windsock to freeze it, then take it back indoors and stand it up on a table to demonstrate the same thing.

I’ve seen it on the Internet, so it must be true!

This photograph was taken in Montana.
By the way, it had to be staged. I lived in the territories where 40 below was common; things that big just don’t freeze that fast.

The diagram of the interior of the statue is a link to an article about the passages in the statue, and rules and permission needed to be admitted…..

….. NONE of which the idiot base jumper pictured in your posted picture followed.
There is a legitimate way to the top of the arm though, and there’s a picture of a legitimate visitor on top of the arm in the article.

So far…

(3 x 3) – 3 = 6

4 – √4 +4=6

5 + 5/5 =6

6 + 6 – 6 = 6

7 – 7/7 =6

8

(√9 x √9) – √9 =6

You don’t have to be a university grad to do arithmetic!

Still working on the 8s, which seems harder… but I have to leave, briefly. I’ll be back!

Forgot to come post….

before I check what others have posted:
³√8 + ³√8 + ³√8 =6

Dunno why I didn’t think of it when I posted the rest.

It would be helpful if the set of mathematical functions available was defined.
3 x 3 – 3 = 6
The square root of 4, plus the same, plus the same = 6.
5 / 5 + 5 = 6
6 – 6 + 6 = 6. Also the cube root of 6, plus the same, plus the same. Also 6 / 6 x 6 = 6
Are parentheses to isolate a functions results permitted?

Here is the answer from ‘Puzzles World’
The instructions mean any mathematical operators, and should also say you need to follow grouping rules too.
It’s late, and when I came up with two solutions to the 4’s puzzle I just looked for the solution.

Wowie zowie!!!

Holy crimefighting caper, BatFans!

(And if you’re not a BatFan yet, you will be!)

BATBASSET is BACK!!

Yay!!

I’ve been asking for this!

It’s been a long time… I’ve wondered what the caped doggy duo has been up to.

So come on, you two… the BatPhone® is beeping: crime is calling, there’s no time for lying low…

These are exciting times.

I’m gonna pop some kibblecorn, fill my BatBasset® mug with hot chocolate…

comment image

and hunker down in front of the screen, even if it’s only a tablet.

There’s plenty of cocoa, and kibblecorn if anybody wants to come watch with me…

Though you might want to bring your own tablet. Or phone, or laptop.

My tablet is only 8″.

But you WILL want to watch…

I just know adventure is heading our way!
