I’d be concerned with dancing on it. I got tired of hearing “feet off the sofa”, “no walking on the furniture”, etc, while growing up. When I got my own house, the rule was: No NOT dancing on the sofa!
A rare instance where the juvenile reminded me of someone, probably because the previous post about Lincoln & Kennedy. I thought Lee Harvey Oswald (no spoiler here because I’m sooo far off).
For some reason, this U.R.L. will not post as a link.
Right click on it and open it in a new window and scroll down it’s just under the “Blondie” strip.
Today’s Songs:
1. ‘It’s a Heartache,’ 2. ‘It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,’ 3. ‘Jambalaya,’ and 4. ‘Janie’s Got a Gun,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe 5. ‘Chorizo Potato Hash’
1. I’ve just learned that Bonnie Tyler is her stage name and she is Welsh by birth. The song was released in 1978 in the U.S. (1977 in the rest of the world) and competed with Juice Newton’s and Ronnie Spector’s covers.
2. Broad strokes: Billy Joel wrote this as a criticism of the music press; but there’s a lot more to it.
3. About two years away from rockin’ around the Christmas tree (13 when she first released that song).
4. Again, a song where I never paid attention to the lyrics, and even if I had, they were changed for air play so the reason Steve Tyler wrote them (child abuse and the revenge of the child, Janie) is completely obscured.
5. Have you ever tried to dice cooked potatoes? Do the second and third panels first, then dice the potatoes before cooking and boil the water in the frying pan adding extra water as necessary until they’re done. Drain the water off, and proceed from there with the rest of the recipe.
My brother saw Billy Joel in concert last year, I wasn’t totally jealous!!!!
One of the best singer-songwriters, and his vocal dexterity really adds to his music. In his song “For the longest time”, he couldn’t get the backing singers to perform exactly how he wanted to get the sound he was after, so he ended up doing the (Several) backing singers parts himself.
Ooh, I remember this pretty basset fairy poster from StelBel.
Elisha Currbert… I admit that I’m unfamiliar with her… but what a delicate little thing she is.
I mean… you know… for a basset hound.
And so naturally sparkly!
She looks especially good in… er.. …purp….um…. lavenderish.
….
There’s a human actress with a similar name… probably trying to emulate the beauty and charm of the basset actress… but I can’t find anything about her being in a fairy movie like this.
Perhaps a human copydog version was never made.
I did find some mock posters for it but they were apparently made for an art class.
But whatever happened, Elisha makes a beautiful TinkerBasset!
Thanks but no, I think the name similarity is obvious.
I meant I can’t find Elisha Cuthbert in a human movie about fairies… I was talking about Tinkerbell (shhh) but didn’t want to admit to knowing the human name for her.
My reviews are generally rather facetious, meant to be a bit tongue in cheek.
But, in reality, I don’t think that movie was actually made.
This was a reply, as was Tigressy’s comment, to someone who apparently removed his own comment.

Gonna have’ta keep an eye on that one.
A busy little body, isn’t he?
nice tush!
“Hey, you abandoned your toast/English muffin/pancake! I hate to see food go to waste.”
..
I would be afraid to sit in it.
I’d be concerned with dancing on it. I got tired of hearing “feet off the sofa”, “no walking on the furniture”, etc, while growing up. When I got my own house, the rule was: No NOT dancing on the sofa!
Reminds me of our old friend Beviek, who had a fortune telling parlor about a block up the hill from Ballard Street.
This would be perfect for her.
I talked to her a few weeks ago, for the first time in quite a while.
Vishma Maharaj is a digital artist.
None of her art is anything other than her imagination rendered visible.
It would be great in a hotel lobby.
something out of ”paladin”

I love being near the ocean.
Near.
This is a little too close to in.
Yup!
I love this one, I can feel the ship going up & down.
And up, and down, and up, and…(urp…)

You have to wonder whether he knows what it’s meant to look like.
He hopes to get lucky.

B-29, I think.
Here is the WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE on FIFI (she is indeed a B-29).
Yes! FiFi to be exact. It’s owned and operated by the Commemorative Air Force. It’s one of two currently flyable B-29s left.
NOSE!
Indeed!
She’s quite impressive to see.
,,
WEIRD, indeed!
.
Yes Sir!
I’ll stay over here Sir.
(Lots of points.)
“… and you wouldn’t believe the headache they give me…
It’s not like I can take the &%‽! things off for an hour!”
NOSE!
Rack!
Not with that pointillism. I’ll try in the morning when it’ not so jumpy. 🙂
It’s photo screen, for printing in newspapers….
But it looks like a tiny newspaper photo was much enlarged.
You got me curious (I got the adult).
By the credit line HERE, the “young” picture is a school yearbook photograph.
I completely missed this one… in fact I identified it as somebody else.
I don’t mean the adult… I mean I misidentified the young man.
I was startled to see how different he had once looked from his quite familiar adult self.
Yeah. No way i was near him.
got me. again!
A rare instance where the juvenile reminded me of someone, probably because the previous post about Lincoln & Kennedy. I thought Lee Harvey Oswald (no spoiler here because I’m sooo far off).
Had no clue.
Me, not him.
?
It’s not a comment from GoComics… I checked.
So whose words are these?
They don’t sound like yours, Nighthawks.
I just thought it was funny

No problem here.
It’s a link here, too.
Sparkly! Just like our Cleo. 🙂
Just like our Stel Bell!
Where i was at in Arizona it was called Desert Fever.
And i had it. It was like having the flu for a month.
Wow, that’s scary. Take care.
Not a problem now. That was years ago.

My favorite version of Jambalya is this one:

Susan does know that.
And no; there’s nothing to find for me, too.
Must be a meme.
StelBel has to get well soon ’cause she’s got some explaining to do!!!
🤞
Thanks.
As for the explanation…
It must have been a class project.
I finally got Stel to admit she didn’t think there had been anything else.
Thanks but no, I think the name similarity is obvious.
