There was a moment during one of the Pacific battles in WWII, when a Japanese plane entered the landing pattern for a US carrier. It wasn’t a trick, once the AA opened up on him, he pulled up his landing gear and and zoomed out out of there.
Good morning, Cleo pals, and movie fans…or Cleo fans and movie pals…
and wow, Stel… I remember your amazing job on that poster.
So many names!
…
And such a beautiful portrait of Uma Thurdog! Of course, it would be hard to find a photo of her at that age that is NOT beautiful…
But she looks especially fetching in her purplie eye shadow, and high black collar…
in spite of the expression on her face, which obviously says
“Don’t get any ideas.
I am NOT fetching anything for anybody.”
…..
This film launched her as a major star.. and restarted John Tragrowler’s flagging career…
It’s consistently ranked among the best basset films ever…
In fact, it put both Basset Pictures and Quentin Taranbasset on the map, and single-pawedly started a renaissance of independent film-making.
….
The plot can best be described as “Everybody shoots everybody.”
I…er… I hear it’s amazing.
It’s back for a limited engagement at the BassetPlex II and III, allowing them to fit in 6 showings a day between the two.
In fact, I spoke to the theater manager, and reminded him about its last engagement, and how many Cleo fans attended…
And he gave me free passes for the first 27 Cleo fans who want to see it.
Let me know by Wednesday if you can, because once I have the list, I’ll start giving any leftover tickets to those who want to bring a spouse or a friend.
They’re good for this Thursday night, or Sunday afternoon, including a free small kibblecorn…. Or next Monday or Tuesday night.
So just talk amongst yourselves and let me know when you want to go, OK? Together or separately.
…
I’ll… um… be right here, waiting for your glowing reports.
A good friend who is somewhat of a movie tester for me told me that the Scaredy Cat row will not do for me this time, because every time someone tells me it’s safe to open my eyes… KAPLOWIE!
Someone else unexpectedly goes down in a flash of gunfire and sometimes blood.
But you guys… um… enjoy.
I’m sure it’s… well…. I’m sure you will…. never mind.
you wouldn’t like it- –the first time I saw this movie, I was on edge every time Vincent and Jules were in a scene —anyone else , at any time, in that scene could have been murdered by either one or both of those murderous two….
I was pleased when Travolta’s Vincent character got his just due from
Bruce Willis’ character Butch.
and later I was disconcerted when his buddy Jules (Samuel L Jackson) simply decided to retire from being a hit man and apparently got away scot free
frankly , I was glad when Vincent (Travolta) got his just due from Butch (Willis)
and not so glad when the murderous Jules apparently retired from the killing game and got away scot free with all he had done
How often do we see a drummer as lead singer?
Don Henley, The Eagles (drums and singing)
Not many. I can only think of 3.
I love this. It looks so happy!
I hope it gets that string off.
Lacks some purplie. 😉
NOSE!
FOR MONTANA LADY….
😀
Oh yes!
oh yes! brought a huge smile to my face!
NOSE! NOSE!! NOSE!!!
I have a love hate relationship with that movie. I hate how much i love it.
There are no good guys!
With the posable exception of Walkies.
I enjoyed all the Pup Fiction reminders of the movie.
Don’t land on the wrong aircraft carrier…….
There must be a great story behind that photo.

Just go, ok? I’ll be fine.
Have fun.

Just blame it on the metric system.
We’ll just get together at your place or mine, behind the couch, ok?
Cameradie isn’t enough for me to sit in the theater with that film, even facing away backwards in the scaredy-cat row.

blueberry muffins
mmmmmmmmmmmm … !
Nose!
I thought that too!
But I guess Montana Lady didn’t.
I’ve got a wild bush that is going to produce a quantity of huckleberries. Enough to bother with picking. Muffins are a good idea.
Huckleberries? I’ll give you a finn for them.
lucky you!
..
tigressy should see this!
Those aren’t the goslings I was looking for…
😀
Maybe the other parent is working on the second batch…
If it’s a good year, that is entirely possible.
