Tigress is correct. Stare at the red dot, then look at something white-ish and you will see the faint outline reversed. I just looked over to the left part of my screen where the “creamy” colouring is, blinked a few times and then held my eyes 3/4 open.
Not working for me either. It should work. Saturating receptors with one color should produce an apparent “excess” of the complimentary color. I think, in my case, age could be a factor. I don’t know why a young lady like you would have trouble with it.
But at least they combat some of the misconceptions most of us grew up with in a lifetime of Mercator maps…
We all “know” that northern Canada, Alaska, Greenland and the countries of the ex Soviet Union are gigantic, because of maps that stretched the top and bottom of the globe to the length of the equator.
And we have no idea that Africa is actually so huge.
My parents took us there once. My dad complained about the prices the whole time and we never went back. It must have been way over priced because my dad loved amusement parks as much as any of us kids.
Try getting a gentle leader. I had to use one for Moxie and I’ve switched to that for Cookie as well. With the harness she was good until she saw a rabbit or a squirrel and then she’d nearly pull me off my feet.

At long last I’ve managed to access, and update my profile to include an avatar. It did involve installing a different browser on a different computer, trying to log in to C&C on that browser only to be told my password wasn’t valid (I was still logged in on this computer at the time, so rather strange). Did the ‘forgot password’ routine on that computer, and wonders of wonders, not only did it work, but it also took me to my profile. I hadn’t been able to validate my email when I signed up originally as I could never receive an email to do so. Not too sure what has changed though as the email did come through to the email client on this computer this time……
The cat in my profile picture is Robson, my late (and Great) Alpha when I had the tribe (Fifteen at maximum hence the username) and ex farm cat.

My hours, in case anyone can’t tell, have been even crazier lately.
Just saying because I ended up replying or commenting to some people on yesterday’s strip, right before today’s came out.
I thanked MCTS for the wombat pic, replied about Mennonite dresses and purple vs blue, for a few, just on the off chance anybody wants to see.
But one comment I’d really like to repeat here, because of people being upset about Alexikakos.

I can understand thinking that… It’s bare of comments from the last four years.
However, this is what I said yesterday, about Alexikakos:

He would have had to do that himself… Not something GC does.

He was, in fact already banned, but since he could read his own comments, I don’t think he knew yet.
However, if you actually check the pages where any of them are supposedly posted, they’re invisible (to anyone but him) in the forums.
He’s never gotten back on GoComics since that point.

Of course his GoComics ban included Ballard Street, so he couldn’t post on Sherpa Cleo either.
He just showed up one day once we were on this site… I can’t remember when.
Also, one day he said he was going to do some spring cleaning, or some such, and disappeared again for months, then came back with no explanation.
I’m fairly sure that was here on Cleo, and not long enough ago to have been while we were on Ballard Street, and well before his ban.
But even if it was way back then, it shows his proclivity for disappearing.
I really hope he’s OK, but I also hope it’s not time to panic.
