Yes. Even when they breach it looks effortless.
The only thing i’ve ever seen the Grey Whales here do that wasn’t was fin and fluke slapping. THAT is just powerful.

USAGE The standard plural in English of octopus is octopuses. However the word octopus comes from
Greek and the Greek plural form octopodes is still
occasionally used. The plural form octopi formed
according to rules for Latin plurals, is incorrect.
So that foul mouth did get that right.
He also seems to think it’s funny to hand out death sentences.
This wants this Oliver to —
I guess that would be in the medieval Cleo cartoon, instead.
..
Anyway, it reminded me of a Farside cartoon, which I cut from the newspaper, years ago and which eventually crumbled on my refrigerator, stuck there with a magnet.
I’ve always remembered it, though… and in another proof of the wonders of the internet… I just Googled “Farside stone tools”… and found it!

Note: Gary Larson used to refuse to have a website, and hated to find his cartoons on the internet, begging fans not to post them…
I post a lot of other people’s work… but I think it’s an artist’s right to ask me not to…
…
So I didn’t do it for years, in spite of there being whole sites devoted to (stolen) Farside strips.
But now he has a site of his own, with archives, accessible from any GoComics page….and I think this colorized version came from it, so I’m posting it.
Hope he’s OK with it these days. If not… sorry, Gary!
Claude will need it when he realizes that the clamp has to be put in place (over the hose in this case) before the hose is attached. Otherwise, it’s a pita.
Claude doing it right? – Possible: yes; highly improbable: double so.
Ice Cream Sunday!
Woo Hoo!!!
I’m going to go to Jenny’s this (early) afternoon to help her move something and give her a quick ride into town. We’ll stop at Ainslee’s Taffy for a scoop or two of ice cream. 😛
yes!…Gloria Stuart was a pretty young miss once. Do you remember the
horror film “The Invisible Man” , starring Claude Rains?
Gloria was Rains’ girlfriend
interesting that the poster shows Rains with a gun in his hand and leaping off a train or something….the only time you saw Claude Rains in the entire movie was in the very last scene in his deathbed, when he became visible.
as her character in ‘Titanic’ said (about looking into a mirror she had
when she was young) ‘the reflection has changed a bit’
She received a nomination for best actress for her portrayal of Rose
in Titanic.
Gloria died in 2010 at the age of 100.
.
I Love this.
I have a thing about Whales.
Graceful, aren’t they.
Yes. Even when they breach it looks effortless.
The only thing i’ve ever seen the Grey Whales here do that wasn’t was fin and fluke slapping. THAT is just powerful.
My first sight of a whale was an Orca breaching off Point Roberts (Wash.) It looked like she(?) leapt clear over a rowboat full of fishermen!
A Blue Whale has been spotted off our coast again.
There is no idea if its one of the same, or different.
Be careful, Claude…..don’t get too hammered!
LOL!
EWC!
Where is Katina?
As I said, I fear she is no longer with us.
Nothing on GoComics or here since May 29.
I miss her. Wish there were a way to get news.
I don’t think that she even let on what state she’s in.
I think we all should make an arrangement that if something happens to us that our families get in touch!!!!!
Then you could hold a virtual wake for me if you wanted to.
Lots better than mourning. (It isn’t time yet, don’t get your hopes up) {^¿^}
Our hopes are that you are around for a long, long time. We need your sense of humor. So stay healthy!!
Now that’s a sneer!
I don’t think even Perkykitty could like THAT kitty
That’s a look I would definitely tiptoe around.
Looks more like “Snow” to me…
But in case you are right:
somehow , to me, this character is creepier than Superbasset
Don’t judge me!
…
…
Look at that Calamari go…!
Only tasted it once. Very good.
Not really a calamari, of course, since they’re squid…
but this little octopus looks like she’s all dressed up and late for a night on the town.
Maybe she’s got a date for en elegant calamari dinner.
But I think John Oliver could take some lessons on presenting without so much foul language…
You made me look! I don’t mind it, really.
Then you shouldn’t watch this…
😝

Octopuses = 9 letters
Octopi = 6 letters
The correct plural is octopi.

What a great assistant Cleo makes!
…call a plumber?
I usually wanted a drink after the big project.
However does our Cleo know what Claude needs! Great assistant!
For a moment I thought Claude called out “Wench!”
I guess that would be in the medieval Cleo cartoon, instead.

This is pretty much the scene when I’m helping my husband with a project….only he knows his tools better than that.
Claude will need it when he realizes that the clamp has to be put in place (over the hose in this case) before the hose is attached. Otherwise, it’s a pita.

Guess who does the serious plumbing around here.

I am going to serialize my trip to Wolverton
Mountain.
Part II tomorrow.

Sour candy and caviar sundae…Hmmm..
I like the way Cleo thinks. Claude probably needs that more ~ especially when he realizes he needs to call plumber.
I am sitting here enjoying my morning coffee listening to some really great songs! Thanks, Nighthawks. Loved ‘You’re Always on my Mind!’
