this , I remember, was the episode where ol’ Superdooperman , whilst still in disguise as Mr. Kent, took an ordinary piece of coal , placed it in a handy pool of water and squeezed it a few seconds until it became a diamond.
and then pretended to have just ‘found’ the diamond in the water.
Well, how else would we little kids know it was a diamond?
I was shocked when I discovered that they didn’t look like that when they were studding the walls of the diamond mine, ready to be plucked off and put into rings.
I never cared for any Vette until the most recent version. The current Vette is the car I tried to draw as a kid; I love it.
I don’t want one. You can’t see the cool lines from inside and it wastes gasoline.
From Instagram (but several sites give the same information in different words):
“The ruins of Timgad lie on the slopes of the Aures Massif, about 35 km east of the town of Batna, in modern-day Algeria. Built nearly 2,000 years ago, by the Roman Emperor Trajan, the city is laid out in great precision and is one of the best surviving examples of the grid plan used by the ancient Roman city planners.”
Credited to Hassan Ragab, an Egyptian artist currently living in California.
“By integrating Ai into his multidisciplinary practice; Ragab draws from his experience as an architect to create dreamlike images of cities, buildings and interiors, often inspired by cities like his hometown Alexandria.”
About using AI in his art he says:.blah blah blah (my translation.)

Ya gotta know which way the wind is blowin’!
So, Bernie, what IS the answer?
..
Acropolis — the early years…
Actually the Lincoln Memorial under construction.
Both have fluted Greek Doric columns. (I know…big deal.)
The Lincoln Memorial was built to show p3ople what is on the back of the US Penny. Little known facts about DC.
…
I just can’t tell who he is with those glasses on!
Clark Kent…

If I remember correctly, it was already cut and polished, too.
Well, how else would we little kids know it was a diamond?
I was shocked when I discovered that they didn’t look like that when they were studding the walls of the diamond mine, ready to be plucked off and put into rings.

Exactly!
That was the model I knew!
And Disney cartoons were true to life, right?
Especially the “Adventureland” ones…/s
The lemmings, too!
Taught the whole world about their mass suicides.
Much as I loved Christopher Reeve in the role, and super-handsome as he was, the face of
Unfortunately, he wasn’t very happy about that 😢
….
I wouldn’t have guessed it… Being the second-largest piece of real estate on the planet probably helped…
And maybe Paul Bunyan and Babe stomping around in all that vast northern wilderness and snow.
well, yeah. everybody knows that.
now , let’s talk about Pecos Pete
I don’t think ol’ Pete ever made it over the border.
…..
D’oh! I was about to say I didn’t remember any of those movies…
You notice? No helmets. Darwin Award tryouts.
Ouch! I suspect there were a couple of concussions and some road rash.
Also not staying in their lane, especially as a double yellow line usually means a blind curve.
Horrifying to imagine being the driver of a semi on that stretch.
surely, they had somebody halt the traffic coming from the other direction.
surely
That’s what they do with long boards riding luge style.
They put a spotter at the bottom.
Looks like the 2nd guy took out a mile marker. Those things are sturdy.
Boston FD 1925

“Ready, aim, FIRE!
Who is administering an oath to whom?
The guy with the closed fist has KIBBLE!
Their names are Spot.
More or less.
1960 Corvette

Still causes a tingle!
I have never liked the lines of any Stingray.
But here’s “Shutdown” by the Beach Boys.
R.I.P. Brian Wilson.
Technically, the first Corvette to be named ‘Stingray’ was the ’63 model
I didn’t know that before today.
Thanks for the information.

I don’t really want to drive the ’60 in this picture, either…. But I love it.
It doesn’t really look sleek or fast… and I’m not looking for a that anyway… but there’s something about it.
Maybe I could just keep one for a pet?
I saw my first one on a trip to Bellingham. It was so different to anything I’d ever seen it might as well have been a flying saucer!
To all us guys, girls / women ARE like flowers. Beautiful just because they exist. Anything else is icing on the cake.

Lotta trips to the hospital before he got that one right…
Good stunt.
Nope. I don’t believe it.
It’s simple — the just ran the film backwards… ;o)

The Arch of Trajan, in Timgad, Algeria.

(pst) It’s right on top in the picture.
I missed that!
with Susan’s itty-bitty laptop screen, that teeny-tiny font is possibly unreadable
LOL… Thanks…
And yes, but it’s not even a teeny laptop… It’s an 8″ tablet! Sometimes my phone, half that size. 🦯
If i use two fingers to enlarge things, I can see them fine, though only bit by bit.
I saw that line, I guess, but didn’t realize it was text.
Anyway, at least there’s a bit of further information in my post…. And it doesn’t conflict with the caption. 😁
You just gotta keep those tent caterpillars under control…
“Lucy – you got some esplainin’ to do!”
Well, that’s one way to avoid the yearly floods! Still, it reminds me of executive outhouses…you don’t want to be in the one on the bottom.
When tree goats get civilized.
That’s what I thought of first too
You do realize that it doesn’t exist?

No stairs whatsoever are a dead giveaway.
I thought the whole concept was pretty much a giveaway.
Tree houses are not that uncommon.
They became quite the fad for a while.
It wasn’t “a” treehouse that looked like AI to me… I’ve seen plenty of treehouses.
I even had a friend who lived in one in the 70s, but I never went inside cos the ladder was too scary.
It was the whole artistically balanced cluster of them, none with any visible bracing or platforms for support.
Plus the two stacked precariously on the ground to the left.
We’ve seen too much AI with stacked houses, adobes, even chicken coops, for this to look real… I didn’t think anybody thought it was. 😁
there’s a small service elevator in the rear, but getting the couch up there is going to be a problem
Or the piano – delivered by Stan and Ollie…
Anyone else thinking “clambake?”
Gizmo and his offspring.
Easy enough to find it, but that one little mushroom isn’t going to feed all those creatures.
They don’t eat people, do they?
Finally got it.
,.
Except when those dang hurricanes blow through.
Oh yeah, that sure looks like my idea of a playground. Uh huh.
it’s why I posted it— pretty dismal-looking ‘playground of the south’
Yeah, I thought so.
I was agreeing with you
If you drink enough port it looks pretty good…
From today’s London “Daily Mail.”
.
Looks bogus. I’d need much more documentation than this.
Just a great poster from the legendary Stel Bel.
I always think of her whenever I see rainbows in the sky.
and roosters!…..she loved roosters
